p 10 Years of Effort and Success—Special Report Crime being down is good news; crime being down by a 41% margin is very good news. There have been many good Ferris people making a solid effort to raise the academic standards and lower the incidents of crime, included among them the men and women of public safety.* Incidents per 1000 people The types of crimes have changed substantially, going from more serious crimes to lesser violations often referred to as public order crimes. In many cases, we can handle minor infractions with a referral to the Office of Student Conduct or a warning by the officer.
