Summary<br />
The Financial Crimes Seminar provides<br />
commissioned examiners with a higher level of<br />
knowledge of fraudulent schemes and insider<br />
abuses.<br />
Objectives<br />
At the completion of the course, a participant<br />
should have gained knowledge in:<br />
• Current financial crimes impacting financial<br />
institutions<br />
• Recognizing public company financial<br />
statement misrepresentations and other<br />
accounting schemes<br />
• Potential insider abuse<br />
Target Audience<br />
Each participant should be a commissioned safety<br />
and soundness examiner. This course should not<br />
be attended more than once within a 3-year<br />
period.<br />
Financial Crimes Seminar<br />
Length<br />
Financial Crimes Seminar is a 3½-day conference.<br />
The seminar begins on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. and<br />
ends on Friday at 12:00 noon. The normal class<br />
day is 8 hours.<br />
Topics<br />
The seminar topics should reflect the current fraud<br />
environment in the financial industry. Instructors<br />
may include staff from the FBI, the SEC, FinCen,<br />
Department of Justice, various regulatory agencies,<br />
industry specialists, accountants, and attorneys.<br />
