UND athletics prides itself on the academic excellence of its student-athletes,
whose athletic achievements are matched by academic distinction on a
yearly basis .
The George and Arlene Schubert Athletics Academic Center, which opened
in April 2008, serves as a study center for student-athletes and is conveniently
located in the Hyslop Sports Center .
Academic services director Amanda Hajdu oversees the study center, which
features 12 state-of-the-art, desktop computers and provides an excellent
location for student-athletes to utilize between classes for valuable daytime
study . The academic center is also available on demand to student-athletes
for evening study table .
UND’s student-athletes also have access to a variety of laptop computers for
use on road trips, further emphasizing a department-wide commitment to
academics .
UND’s Academic Awards
Night in February honored
244 student-athletes who
achieved either a 3.0 GPA
during the fall semester or
a cumulative 3.0 through
the Fall 2010 semester.
More than half of UND’s
student-athletes achieved
this high honor, including
46 who owned a perfect
4.0 GPA.

teams, including a team-record 16
men’s hockey student-athletes .

collective 3 .089 GPA in 2010-11 .
• Sixty-four percent of UND’s
student-athletes boasted a 3 .0 GPA
during the spring semester alone .
• Former softball and hockey
standout Casie Hanson was one
of eight national recipients of the
prestigious NCAA Top VIII Award .
• Junior goalie Brad Eidsness
received the NCAA Elite 88 Award
for men’s hockey .
• UND’s women’s golf program
received public recognition from
the NCAA for its outstanding
multiyear Academic Progress Rate
(APR) . UND’s APR ranked in the top
10 percent of all Division I women’s
golf programs, which accounts
for the 2006-07 through 2009-10
academic years .
• The women’s swimming and
diving program ranked fourth
among the 89 NCAA Division I teams
named to the 2010 College Swim
Coaches Association of America
(CSCAA) Scholar All America Team
in February .
