Sounds & Software License Agreement 

NOTE : 

COPYRIGHT LAWS HAVE RECENTLY BEEN STRENGTHENED. IT IS IN 

YOUR BEST INTEREST TO READ AND FOLLOW THIS AGREEMENT. 

This copy of the Sounds & Software (the Product) are licensed to you as the 

end user. Please read this Agreement carefully. 

You cannot transfer ownership of these Sounds and Software they contain. 

You cannot re-sell or copy the Product. 

LICENSE AND PROTECTION 

1. License Grant. 

UVI, brand (UVI) grants to you, subject to the following terms and conditions, 

a non-exclusive, nontransferable right to use each authorized copy of the 

enclosed Product. 

The enclosed product is the property of UVI and is licensed to you only for 

use as part of a musical performance, live or recorded. This license expressly 

forbids resale or other distribution of the sounds and software included in 

the Product or their derivatives, either as they exist on disc, reformatted for 

use in another digital sampler, or mixed, combined, filtered, resynthesized 

or otherwise edited, for use as sounds, multisounds, samples, multisamples, 

wavetables, programs or patches in a sampler, microchip or any hardware or 

software sample playback device. 

You cannot sell the Product content or give it away for use by others in 

their sampling or sample playback devices. In the event UVI terminates this 

Agreement due to your breach, you agree to return the original and all other 

copies of the software and documentation to UVI. 

UVI reserves all rights not expressly granted to you. 

2. Protection of Software. 

You agree to take all reasonable steps to protect this product and any accompanying 

documentation from unauthorized copying or use. You agree not to 

modify the enclosed product to circumvent any method or means adopted 

or implemented by UVI to protect against or iscourage the unlicensed use of 

copying of the enclosed Product. 

3. Ownership. 

As between you and UVI, ownership of, and title to, the enclosed digitally 

recorded sounds (including any copies) will be held by UVI. Copies are provided 

to you only to enable you to exercise your rights under the license. 

Only this license is purchased by you. 

4. Term. 

This Agreement is effective from the date you open this package, and will 

remain in full force until termination. This Agreement will terminate if you break 

any of the terms or conditions of this Agreement. Upon termination you agree 

to destroy and return to UVI all copies of this product and accompanying 

documentation. 

5. Restrictions. 

Except as expressly authorized in this Agreement, you may not rent, sell, lease, 

sublicense, distribute, transfer, copy, reproduce, display, modify or time share 

the enclosed product or documentation.

Gypsy Jazzy is the first product exclusively dedicated to Gypsy Jazz, from its 

very roots to most modern genres like electro-swing and swing-house. 

Initiated by Parisian guitarist Django Reinhardt in the 1930s, the ‚«Jazz 

Manouche» style beautifully put the gypsy spirit into the swing articulation of 

the period. Rhythm guitar, violin, clarinet and accordion are commonly played 

as lead instruments. 

Gypsy Jazzy will make you live through this renewed-vintage mood again, 

thanks to its great construction kits, featuring 1 000+ of loops and authentic 

instruments: gypsy guitars, double bass, roots drums, gypsy violin, clarinet, 

typical accordion, vocals and even DJ scratches! All were performed by real 

skilled musicians. 

Deeply multi-sampled instruments with round-robin are at your disposal as well 

as the ChordOmatic presets that will simplify your work: play a chord on your 

keyboard and the instrument will perform the real thing. 

And even better : if you want a whole Gypsy Jazz band playing, following your 

tempo AND chords in real-time, just using your keyboard, use our new exclusive 

UVIrtualBand presets ! 

The free UVI Workstation 2 software included will allow you to use all sound 

files and instruments immediately. But If you want to experience more advanced 

editing and the best time-stretch in the industry, Gypsy Jazzy is fully compliant 

with MOTU MachFive 3 (both UVI Workstation and MachFive 3 can operate in 

stand alone mode as well as in plug-ins, compatible with any DAW and music 

software - whether you’re Mac or PC.)

INSTALLING THE UFS FILE 

The UFS file is the actual sound-bank file, where every 

data Gypsy Jazzy needs is located: samples, presets, 

scripts, FX, impulse responses, etc. 

Once it’s installed following the procedure below, 

you will be able to load the presets within the UVI 

Workstation 2 or MachFive 3.

CONSTRUCTION KITS ORGANISATION 

> Gypsy Jazzy contains 15 construction kits, «songs», organized in folders. 

> The construction kit preset lies at the root of every song folder. Find there 

most sounds of the corresponding song mapped in sections. More info in the 

preset. 

> In Single view every preset has got a comprehensive description : key & 

chords, key-range, macro knobs infos... 

NOTE 1: 

All the tempo-synced samples from the preset menu will automatically sync to 

your host tempo, or the global tempo if you work in stand alone mode of the 

UVI Workstation or MachFive 3. Make sure you stay close to the original tempo 

for better results. 

NOTE 2: 

A construction kit preset is a selection, feel free to search into the other 

folders.

> In the sub-folders, you will find Wave audio files that you can use inside the 

UVI Workstation 2 or MachFive 3, or simply drag & drop them wherever you 

want (host, desktop...) 

Check out UVI Workstation 2 and/or MachFive 3 user guides to learn how to 

optimize your workflow with loops and phrases. 

DRAG AND DROP AND UVI WORKSTATION 

> Drag and Drop files from the UVI Workstation browser. 

When loading and listening sounds from the browser, you can simply drag 

and drop the original file to the desired location. Note that doing this from the 

browser you will get the original file, at the original tempo. 

> Drag and Drop sounds from the Single view 

When a sound file is loaded and you’re set in the Single view, drag and drop 

with the icon (as showed in the above picture) will export the audio file at the 

host tempo (or UVI Workstation’s tempo). 

Tip: you can use the arrow in the single view to browse and drag and drop 

quickly. 

> The «Sorted Elements» folder only contains sound files organized by instruments. 

(Guitar, bass, accordion, violin, voice ...).

GYPSY JAZZY UVIRTUAL BANDS 

What is a UVIrtual Band preset ? 

We are glad to introduce this brand new and simple concept: simply play a 

chord with your MIDI keyboard connected to UVI Workstation 2 or MachFive 3, 

and a complete band - including drums, guitar, double bass an accordion - will 

play for you, following your chord progression and your song’s tempo. 

That’s a unique way to quickly test things without tweaking the sounds for 

hours, and thanks to the included Macro Knobs, you can change the volume 

and pan of the instruments, and even give to the whole band a crispy old school 

vinyl flavor or make it play in a large room. 

Note: 

Pressing the sustain pedal will let the current chord play until you change it 

to another one. This is very convenient, especially if you want to play a solo 

instrument at the same time. 

The UVIBand Solo preset 

This preset is here to complete the UVIrtual Band presets, so your can have the 

band following your chords, and play solo parts along the loops. 

How to do it : 

1- Load an UVIrtual Band preset in a part 

2- Load the UVIBand Solo preset in another part 

3- Set both part to the same MIDI channel and you’re ready to Jazz!

This preset was programmed with some cool key switches so you can change 

the solo sound any time while playing.
