01.83 SPECIFICATIONS <strong>FOR</strong> QUAD RACERS<br />

83.01 Definition<br />

Refer to Article 01.7/Classes - Group G/Quad Racers, for definition.<br />

83.02 Type of motorcycle<br />

There is no restriction placed on the make, construction of type of motorcycle, other<br />

than specified below. The cylinder capacity must be min. 250 cc and max. 350 cc<br />

(2 cylinders max.) and 500 cc (1 cylinder). The drive must be through the rear wheels<br />

only via a solid axle.<br />

83.03 Wheels<br />

Wheel rim diameter max.: 12 inches.<br />

There is no restriction for the size of the front wheel. It is forbidden to use wheels with<br />

spokes.<br />

Every front wheel must have a functional brake installed on axle and operated by a<br />

handlebar mounted lever.<br />

On the rear, the vehicle must have a brake on each wheel or a brake fixed solidly on<br />

the rear transmission axle of the wheels, operated by a lever on the handlebar or by<br />

a foot-operated pedal.<br />

Wheels must be protected by good mudguards of soft, synthetic materials.<br />

83.04 Tyres<br />

Article 01.49 is applicable.<br />

83.05 Overall width<br />

The maximum overall width cannot exceed 1300 mm.<br />

83.06 Protection<br />

A crash bar must be placed behind the seat. The length and width of the crash bar<br />

must end above the rear section of the chain sprocket.<br />

A crash ‘bar’ or ‘guard’ must be fixed at the front and the rear of the vehicle. This<br />

protective barrier must be fitted in such a way that it is in alignment with the<br />

outside flange of the wheels.<br />

A protective barrier (or ‘guard’) of a round profile (minimum diameter: 25 mm) must<br />

be installed on each side of the vehicle. There shall be no prominent (sharp) parts.<br />
