Notes from Friends<br />
on “Hart of Dixie,” a new show airing on<br />
the CW network this fall.<br />
Laura Umbrecht graduated from<br />
Georgetown University in May and has<br />
begun her first year at Columbia Law<br />
<strong>School</strong>. “Much love to FCS and the<br />
Class of 2007!” she writes.<br />
2008<br />
Logan Brenner is the 2011-2012 Vice<br />
President for Clubs and Organizations<br />
at Skidmore College. Last spring she<br />
spent a semester abroad on South<br />
Caicos, Turks and Caicos Islands,<br />
with the <strong>School</strong> for Field Studies. She<br />
studied marine resource management<br />
there and used SCUBA to monitor coral<br />
reefs. She won the Barry M. Goldwater<br />
Scholarship in 2011.<br />
Mary Stroman was named a captain<br />
of the Washington College swimming<br />
team for the 2011-2012 season. Stroman<br />
was named to the 2010 Centennial<br />
Conference All-Sportsmanship Team<br />
and is a four-time medalist at Centennial<br />
Conference Championship meets,<br />
including three gold medals at the 2010<br />

2009<br />
Andrew Kelly has interned the past<br />
two summers at Simeone Foundation<br />
Museum in Philadelphia. The museum<br />
collection, assembled by neurosurgeon<br />
Frederick Simeone over a 50-year span,<br />
contains more than 60 of the rarest and<br />
most significant racing and sports cars<br />
ever built, such as an original 1964 Shelby<br />
Daytona Cobra Coupe valued at more than<br />
$7 million. Kelly is a junior mechanical<br />
engineering major at Johns Hopkins and<br />
was recently profiled by the JHU Gazette.<br />
Catherine Weingarten completed her<br />
sophomore year at Bennington College,<br />
and this fall she is studying advanced<br />
playwriting in London with NYU’s Tisch<br />
<strong>School</strong> of the Arts.
