Overview: A study of principal pre-service and in-service professional development programs. The study was
funded by the Wallace Foundation and looked at the qualities of effective training programs, the current financial
structure of professional development and institutional, organizational, and financial enablers of effective programs.
Role: Analyzed survey data and collaborated with Terry Orr (Bank Street College) on writing a paper about how
leadership preparation affects school outcomes.
Research Program: “Carnegie Beginner Teacher Effectiveness Study”, (September 2007-present)
Overview: A study looking into the relationship between measures of pre-service preparation quality, individual
teacher quality, teaching practices, and student achievement gains for early career teachers
Role: Research Assistant to Susanna Loeb (Associate Professor of Education) and Linda Darling-Hammond.
