GaBi Education License Application Form
1. In order to gain access to the GaBi Education software, you are required to complete this short form. PE
INTERNATIONAL require this information to keep track of all GaBi users. Your information will remain
confidential.
2. After completing this form please read and sign the license agreement found on the following page. Once
signed, this is a binding agreement between PE INTERNATIONAL and you.
3. Ask your university to verify your application (this can be a supervising teacher).
4. Fax or email a scanned copy of this form and your student ID (teachers excluded; we’ll check your
university website) to PE INTERNATIONAL:

Conditions
The GaBi Education license may only be used for education purposes in programs up to and including the level of
master, or equivalent, only at Universities and Colleges. PhD students in non-OECD countries may also use GaBi
Education. Projects directly funded by industry or public bodies are not permitted with this version.
PE INTERNATIONAL retains the right to reject an application or cancel a license if it is suspected that the license is
being, or will be, used inappropriately.
Notes about Network Licenses
Network Licenses are available only to teachers at universities and colleges.
Network licences are designed to be deployed in a computer laboratory where all client computers are
connected to the same server.
If you are applying for a network license please indicate how many client computers exist in the computer
laboratory.

GaBi Education Licensing Conditions
GaBi (source code, database including extension modules and single data sets, documentation) re-
mains property of PE INTERNATIONAL GmbH. PE INTERNATIONAL delivers GaBi licenses electroni-
cally as ordered by the customer. The license grants the right of usage for one installation of GaBi. Fur-
ther installations using the same license are not permitted.
GaBi Data Licensing Conditions
Data sets may be copied for internal use only. The number of copies is restricted to the number of li-
censes of the GaBi software system that the licensee owns. Data sets may not be published without
written permission of PE INTERNATIONAL. In the same way the transferral of data sets for any purpose
without written permission is forbidden. The passing on of single data sets as well as their distribution or
disposition is only allowed with the written permission of PE INTERNATIONAL. The right of use is ex-
clusively valid for the licensee. All rights reserved.
Users may not publish individual data sets. Only aggregated or calculated results produced using GaBi
data may be published. In any published materials, acknowledgement must be given to GaBi when
GaBi data or software is used, for example: “GaBi 4: Software and data base for Life Cycle Engineering,
PE INTERNATIONAL GmbH, April 2007.”
Licensing Conditions of GaBi Education Licenses
The GaBi Education license may only be used for education purposes in programs up to and including
the level of master, or equivalent, only at Universities and Colleges. PhD students in non-OECD
countries may also use GaBi Education. Projects directly funded by industry or public bodies are not
permitted with this version. In addition, if a student wants to license GaBi software he/she needs to pro-
vide confirmation of his/her attendance at a University or College.
The GaBi Education license is provided free of charge. The GaBi Education license is delivered via
download. Users accept with the signature on this document to not pass on any access codes outside
the orgainsation applied or the provided GaBi Education software.
The GaBi Education license will expire after 12 months. A renewal of the license can be achieved by
reapplying for the GaBi Education license.
Support for the GaBi Education license is given via the GaBi Learning Center which can be accessed
via a link from the GaBi Education software or throught he GaBi Software website.
Licenses are not transferable and can only be used within the licensee's organisation. If the student
completes his/her studies at a University or College he/she is now longer permitted to use the GaBi
Software within this license agreement.

Liability and Warranty
The software system GaBi and the corresponding database have been developed with best knowledge
and conscience according to the state-of-the-art. PE INTERNATIONAL is unable to assume liability for
possible damages as a result of installing and using the software and the database except in case of
intent and taking over a guarantee. Statutory or implied warranty is also exluded except in case of tak-
ing over a guarantee.
Court of Jurisdiction
If legal, the court of jurisdiction is Esslingen am Neckar, Germany. These terms are subject to the law of
the Federal Republic of Germany excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale
of Goods.
