D. Johann 2 “John” Techtmann was born 22 Oct 1842 Vinstedt, Amt Metigan, Hanover, 16 and came to
America with his parents at age 13 in 1855. 4 On the 15 Jun 1860 census he is shown as a farm laborer,
age 19, with his parents in Barton Twp. (A farm laborer was one who worked on the farm where he
lived.) He volunteered 12 Oct 1861 in Co F, 9th Wisconsin Infantry. 18
He married Elisabeth Mueller 23 Dec 1875 West Bend, Washington Co WI. Her father was
Mathias Mueller. Her mother was Elizabeth [Mueller] [Techtmann], the second wife of
Johann Christof Techtmann, page 9b-10. 20
John died 1 Jun 1928, age 85, at a sanitarium in Minneapolis, Hennepin Co MN, and was buried
row 11, Union Cemetery, West Bend. 2 Born 9 Jun 1844 in WI, Elizabeth died 23 May 1932, age 87, at
the home of son Henry A Techtmann, Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co WI, buried Evergreen Cemetery,
Milwaukee.
1. Henry A 3 Techtmann lived in Milwaukee WI. 18 He married Minnie Faust; at least three
children. Born 31 Jan 1877, Minnie died 10 Aug 1936, age 59.
a. Wilbur 4 Techtmann was born about 1905.
b. Walter 4 Techtmann was born about 1907.
c. Herbert 4 Techtmann was born about 1914.
2. John Mathias 3 Techtmann, born 11 Sep 1877, moved to Pueblo CO in his late teens, and to
Portland OR in the early 1920s. He married (--?--) [Techtmann]; two children. Secondly, he
married Theresa Kenucane; four children. She died 29 Jun 1963. He died 4 Dec 1965, age 88. 22
a. Mabel 4 Techtmann, born 21 Mar 1901 in WI, buried Portland, Multomah Co OR.
b. Ellen 4 Techtmann, born 19 Nov 1903 in WI, died 4 Dec 1999, age 96, buried Portland.
c. Jerome Joseph 4 Techtmann, born 1 Jul 1913 in WI, buried Portland.
d. Aloysia Mary 4 Techtmann was born 9 Nov 1915 in WI.
e. Eulalia 4 Techtmann was born 26 Mar 1918.
f. Rosemary 4 Techtmann, born 21 Jun 1920 Pueblo CO, married; one son. She died
6 Sep 1997 Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo CA, age 77, buried Arroyo Grande Cemetery,
Arroyo Grande. 22

5. Herman P 3 Techtmann, born 12 Dec 1881, married Emilie Boettcher 6 Jun 1911. They lived
West Bend WI. He died 29 Jul 1970, age 88. Born about 1882, she died 10 Jun 1971, 18 age abt 89.
They were buried Union Cemetery, West Bend, close beside their infant son Herman (1912-1913).
6. Joseph I 3 Techtmann was born 24 Jan 1885 Barton, Washington Co WI. He died 21 Jun 1919
Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co WI, age 34, 18 buried Evergreen Cemetery, Milwaukee.
