C. Johanna Christiane Pauline 2 “Paulina” Keil, was born 2 Nov 1858 Pühlau, 15 Preussen, and baptized
14 Nov 1858. She married August Johns 18 July 1885 St John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wrightstown,
Brown Co WI. 3 His parents were Friederich John and Johanna Bohrtz.
Paulina died 2 Jan 1900 in WI, age 41. Born 3 May 1856 Pommern, August died 25 Jul 1931
Auburndale, Wood Co WI, age 75. They were buried St John Lutheran Cemetery, Wrightstown.
Note: the name "Johns" was pronounced "Yones" but, in later generations of the family, it came to be
pronounced "Jones" and its spelling changed accordingly.
1. Sarah Louisa Lenora 3 Johns/Jones, born 21 Jun 1886 in WI, married William Schroeder; three
daughters, including the one below.
Born 31 May 1871 Germany, he died about 1940 near Marshfield, Wood Co WI, age about 69,
buried Hewitt Cemetery, Hewitt, Wood Co WI.
a. Grace E 4 Schroeder was born 28 May 1918 Auburndale Township, Wood Co WI, and graduated
from Auburndale High School. She was employed at Pick Manufacturing Company and at Amity
Leather. She married Paul O Hackbarth 29 Nov 1939; no children.
Born 28 Jul 1900, Paul died 24 Apr 1953, age 52. Grace died 11 Jan 1998 West Bend,
Washington Co WI, age 81. They were buried Washington Co Memorial Park, Washington Co.
2. Robert 3 Johns was born 20 May 1887 in WI.
3. Fred 3 "Fritz" Johns was born 4 Jan 1889 in WI.
4. Arthur William Albert 3 Johns, born 18 Mar 1891 Marshfield, Brown Co WI, married Cora Horsens
17 Jun 1914. Her parents were James/Jens Horsens and Sophia Henningsen. Born 26 May 1891
Green Valley, Shawano Co WI, Cora died 8 Jan 1960, Morrison, Brown Co WI, age 68. Arthur died
7 Aug 1967, Morrison, age 76. They were buried Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Wayside, Brown Co.
Three children, the two below plus a son born 1931 in WI, who married and had seven children.
a. Margaret Sophie Alice 4 Johns, born 27 Jul 1915 Carlton, Kewaunee Co WI, married
Wallace Peter Rosera 7 Oct 1939 Montpelier, Kewaunee Co WI; four children born Green Bay,
Brown Co WI. He was born 15 Dec 1916. She died 27 Mar 1999 Green Bay, age 83.
b. Bernice Lucille 4 Johns, born 29 Apr 1917, Sandy Bay, Kewaunee Co WI, married
Donald Christian Emich 23 Sep 1939 Kewaunee Co WI; one son (married; three children). Born
27 Sep 1916, Donald died 15 Jun 1972, age 55. She died 26 Nov 1996, Westborough, Worcester
Co MA, age 79, and was buried Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, Battle Creek, Calhoun Co MI.
Their son has been most helpful to us in providing information about the Johns/Jones family.
5. Emma Mathilda Henrietta 3 Johns, born 17 Jan 1893, married Christ Frandsen; children not known
to us. She died 8 Mar 1930 Fairview Hospital, Minneapolis, Hennepin Co MN, age 37, buried St John
Lutheran Cemetery, Wrightstown, Brown Co WI.
6. Wilhelm Theodor 3 Johns was born 5 Mar 1895. He died 6 Jun 1913 DePere, Brown Co WI, age 18.
