The name of Samuel came from my grandmother who found a letter that was
written by one of Susannah's daughters and mentioned her uncle Samuel Staley.
I have found no concrete dates for Samuel, so I left the dates blank.
We have found records confirming that John Staley Jr. is the father of Samuel R. Staley, who is the father of
Donald N. Staley. We also have records confirming that Donald N. Staley and his second wife Rosa were
cousins. Rosa is the daughter of
William W. Staley; therefore, William W. and Samuel were probably brothers or half brothers. We assume
that John Staley Jr. is the father of both of them. We know that Margaret Barbara Funchess is the mother of
Samuel; we do not know if she
is also William W. Staley's mother.
