The <strong>Shoah</strong><br />
Memorial<br />
The Foundation for the Memory of the <strong>Shoah</strong><br />
provi<strong>de</strong>s financial support for the operation and<br />
<strong>de</strong>velopment of the <strong>Shoah</strong> Memorial in Paris, the<br />
leading archive and documentation center on the<br />
Holocaust in Europe.<br />
With funding from the Foundation,<br />
the <strong>Shoah</strong> Memorial has accomplished<br />
numerous projects:<br />
– Construction of the Wall of Names<br />
(listing the 76,000 names of Jewish<br />
<strong>de</strong>portees from France), and the Wall<br />
of the Righteous (listing the names<br />
of the 2,700 French people recognized<br />
as “Righteous Among the Nations”)<br />
– Renovation and expansion of the main building<br />
– Development of educational<br />
and training activities<br />
– Acquisition of archives<br />
– Creation of a permanent exhibition,<br />
organization of temporary exhibitions<br />
and a program of cultural activities<br />
– Development of activities<br />
all around France and abroad<br />
– Commitment to the creation of a history<br />
and memorial center at Drancy
