REVIEW OF ACADEMIC PROGRESS
Acting under the Regulations Governing Unsatisfactory Progress, as set out in Volume 1
of the Calender, the Faculty Board will review:
(1) all full-time students who have failed to pass at least four subjects at the end of the
second year of attendance;
(2) all part-time students who have failed to pass at least four subjects at the end of the
fourth year of attendance;
(3) all students who have failed to pass at least four subjects after one full-time and two
part-time years;
(4) all students, whether part-time or full-time, who in their first year of attendance have
a record of complete failure; and
(5) all students who fail a compulsory subject twice,
and may take action under the Regulations.
Unless there are mitigating circumstances, a student who fails any elective subject twice
may not be permitted to enrol again in that subject.
TIME LIMITS
The various degree and diploma regulations require that students complete the relevant
course within specified time limits. Only in the most extenuating circumstances will the
Faculty Board give permission for these to be exceeded. Students should consult the
appropriate regulations for details of the limits applying to the course in which they are
enrolled.
