The <strong>Mennonite</strong> literary Society, Inc., a non-pr<strong>of</strong>it organization, began as Brock<br />
Publishing Company in 1971. The Society's main purpose is to print a magazine, The<br />
<strong>Mennonite</strong> Mirror, but it also supports the publication <strong>of</strong> books <strong>of</strong> interest to the<br />
<strong>Mennonite</strong> community. The <strong>Mennonite</strong> Mirror has been published monthly since<br />
1971 and enters more than 5,000 <strong>Mennonite</strong> homes.<br />
Books published by the Literary Society are the following:<br />
• 1977 A Russian Dance <strong>of</strong> Death by Dietrich Neufeld<br />
• 1979 No Strangers in Exile by Hans Harder<br />
• 1981 <strong>Mennonite</strong> Images ed. by Harry Loewen<br />
• 1982 Meditations on a Place and a Way <strong>of</strong> life by Ken Loewen and Margaret<br />
Loewen Reimer<br />
• 1983 A Beloved Physician Cornelius W. Wiebe by Mavis Reimer<br />
• 1983 A Sackful <strong>of</strong> Plautdietsch by AI Reimer, Anne Reimer and Jack Thiessen<br />
• 1984 Stumbling Heavenward by Urie A. Bender<br />
• 1984 Kjenn Jie Noch Plaudietsch? by Herman Rempel .<br />
• 1985 a novel now in publication by AI Reimer<br />
The Society was also involved in the publication <strong>of</strong> From Russia with Music by<br />
Wesley Berg. Several new books are planned for 1986.<br />
