The Baiersbronn area offers a wide range of activities for children. The Murgel’s Spielhaus is the Baiersbronn
kindergarten for the visitors of the region, offering games and entertainment for families with children.
The Murgel magazine contains the children‘s events programme and lists events for the whole year. In addition
to this you can also find lots of great tips and excursion options. Kids’ carts, children rucksack-carriers and
mountain buggies can all be hired at Baiersbronn tourist office.
In addition to this, certain restaurants also offer ‘family friendly tables’, where 2 adults and 2 children get a
menu comprising 4 x main dish, 4 x dessert and 4 x alcohol free drink at a fixed price. Further information is

Baiersbronn has four outdoor swimming pools, located in the districts of Baiersbronn, Klosterreichenbach,
Schönmünzach and Obertal. The first outdoors ‘nature experience’ swimming pool in the municipality of
Baiersbronn is due to open in Mitteltal in 2009. In Freudenstadt there is also the Panoramabad, an indoor family
fun swimming pool. Almost all of the hotels in Baiersbronn have their own indoor pools, with some offering
excellent wellness facilities. Due to its excellent air quality, Obertal has been awarded the status of a Premium
Class therapeutic climate health resort. Schönmünzach-Schwarzenberg is an officially recognised kneipp health
resort.
Hiking
The Baiersbronn area offers excellent hiking and walking possibilities - which is why it is also called the
‘Wanderhimmel’, or hiking heaven. A walk is often ideally combined with a stop off at one of the region’s
mountain restaurant huts. A suggested walk incorporating a stop off at the Satteleihütte in Baiersbronn:

An 18 holes golf course is located in Freudenstadt. Condition for playing: handicap of 54, at weekend, 36.

Winter Activities
Baiersbronn is also an ideal destination for excursions during the winter. From sledging to tobogganing, cross
country skiing, downhill skiing, ice skating, curling and snow walking, every activity is offered to winter sports fans.
Cross country skiing routes are on offer in Baiersbronn, Obertal-Buhlbach, Tonbach, Zwickgabel-Langenbach and on
the Schwarzwaldhochstrasse.
