A Very Rare, Intact Pad of 10,000 Japanese War-Date Postage Stamps captured in Tokyo in 1945
Depicting Japanese General Maresuke Nogi
Captured at the Fall of Tokyo by a duty officer Weisz, of the 8th US Army Air Corps, Tokyo in 1945, this mint and untouched pad of Japanese stamps is still
unopened in their original government issue packet. The stamps commemorate and depict Japanese Army General Maresuke Nogi. A unique capture item, most
soldiers brought back flags, Samurai swords and weapons; Officer Weisz however liked stamps, this is the only example of this kind of capture that I have ever seen.
General Nogi was also once the governor of Taiwan. There are 10,000 stamps total in original mint condition. Amazing! $1,250
