III. Delegation Manual - Mary
A. Questions on Manual?
Updates of Delegate Names will be made after the elections in May
With approved changes to the delegation manual, the delegates will now have more
responsibilities for the program.
IV. Upcoming Board Elections - Mary
A. Nominations – First two weeks of May
On pg 12 of the delegation manual you can review the elections process
nominations of either yourself or someone else you feel would be appropriate for the
position
Mary will send out nomination information in early May
B. Elections by May 30
Should be completed by first week of June
C. Election of Student Program Chair
Elections will take place after election of Student Board (President, Secretary,
Treasurer)
D. Assignment of Student Webmaster
This position will be decided after selection of Student Board and the Student
Program Chair
The creation of this position will help make the Student Program Information to be
more accessible to AT Program Directors
Student Webmaster will be working closely with Mike Goldenberg
V. Possible Topics for 2009 Student Program – Barbara
Matt – program director for deaf Olympics
Bridget – X-Games (Susan McGowan – Medical Director for X-Games)
Louise – ATC @ NEU is the Head ATC for US Olympic Weight lifting
Rae – O&A of Athletic Training
Bridget – Brian Fitzgerald – Figure Skating (was speaker at 2007 meeting)
Rae – Delaware (Figure Skating – Jeff Schneider)
Matt – Football (Patriots – head ATC)
Heather – (suggested head ATC with NY Nicks)
Kevin – Networking and the how to’s or getting to know your ATC’s (speed-dating
your ATC!)

New Business
a) Bob – Are we keeping program on Saturday, Quiz Bowl on Friday evening? YES
b) Scholarships – When will they be handed out? More may be given out so is there a
possibility of handing them out at the student luncheon.
Delegate Conversation – student awards can be awarded (with thanks you’s) at
student luncheon then recognized at banquet. Can we put the student thank yous in
the banquet program?
We will discuss this further via email over the next couple weeks, send final thoughts
to Doug and Bob.
c) Suggested Quiz Bowl format – Trivia Night rather than Quiz Bowl (as a
suggestion)
Comments/Questions
a) The Student Delegation does not officially meet at NATA but we can meet if you
are going. We will discuss who will be going to NATA during the next conference
call.
b) Mary requested that when you receive email delegation (either Mary or anyone
else requesting a response) please respond to all emails so we know you have
received them and the information we need you to have.
c) Louise – NEU is trying to suspend AT program, will be sending out info for
support. Benny Miller(Head ATC), sounds like the decision is based on
“giving”(alumni support)
Matt – sent out newsletter to alumni, had a great response
d) Student Delegates are doing a great job of promoting what we do, our program and
our Delegation.

a) Next conference call will follow exam schedule (middle of May-ish, approx. May
14 th @9:15pm)
