Trot ‘n’ Trek apple<br />

Entering Grades: 7-9<br />

Session: 11 (8 days) I Fee: $535<br />

Improve your horsewomanship skills at this advanced riding program.<br />

Work on timing, rhythm and balance during six hours of horseback<br />

riding sessions, participate in ground sessions on <strong>the</strong> care and feeding<br />

of horses, and enjoy an extended ride and overnight camping out of<br />

camp. <strong>Camp</strong>ers will spend time with <strong>the</strong> horses each day but may<br />

not ride every day. Sleep in tents. Prerequisite: Must have attended<br />

Menzies Mountain Riders or Trot ‘n’ Trek, or have 14 hours of riding<br />

experience prior <strong>to</strong> camp.<br />

We are excited <strong>to</strong> offer several programs that allow girls <strong>to</strong> travel throughout <strong>the</strong> Sierra Nevada<br />

and beyond. Travel programs include a minimum of three <strong>to</strong> six nights of travel and may not<br />

include time at <strong>Camp</strong> Menzies. Unless o<strong>the</strong>rwise noted, girls will be camping at campgrounds<br />

during <strong>the</strong>ir travels. Transportation for most travel programs is provided by seven-, eight- or<br />

12-passenger vehicles. Please check individual descriptions for pick-up and drop-off locations.<br />

Yosemite <strong>Camp</strong> of Service <br />

Entering Grades: 6-12<br />

June 10 -14, <strong>2013</strong> I Fee: $220<br />

Spend five days in Yosemite National Park completing <strong>the</strong> “Resource<br />

Stewardship <strong>Girl</strong> Scout Ranger program.” Explore this beautiful park, learning<br />

how <strong>to</strong> protect its natural and cultural resources while engaging in educational<br />

and volunteer service projects. Work alongside professionals who will give you<br />

an inside perspective on environmental science and conservation careers. While<br />

working on <strong>the</strong> Outdoor badge, you’ll spend three days alongside park rangers<br />

completing service projects and two days exploring <strong>the</strong> park’s hidden secrets.<br />

Fee includes entrance fees, van transportation <strong>to</strong> and from Sacramen<strong>to</strong> and<br />

Salida, program supplies, meals, and a fun patch.<br />

Mystery, Mummies and More *<br />

Session: 1 (5 days) I Fee: $375<br />

Explore <strong>the</strong> Winchester Mystery House, visit an ancient Egyptian<br />

mummy and try <strong>to</strong> figure out “whodunit?” at a mystery dinner<br />

<strong>the</strong>ater event while earning your Special Agent badge. Sleep in tents.<br />

Fee includes entrance fees, van transportation <strong>to</strong> and from Sacramen<strong>to</strong>,<br />

S<strong>to</strong>ck<strong>to</strong>n and Salida, program supplies, meals, and a fun patch.
