RESIDENT CAMP AND<br />

TRAVEL PROGRAMS:<br />

When does registration for<br />

camp open?<br />

<strong>Camp</strong> registration officially opens on February<br />

1, <strong>2013</strong>; however, you can send in your registration<br />

anytime in January. Registrations received<br />

prior <strong>to</strong> this date will be held until February 1<br />

and <strong>the</strong>n processed randomly. No preference<br />

will be given <strong>to</strong> registrations received prior <strong>to</strong><br />

February 1. After February 1, registrations will<br />

be processed as <strong>the</strong>y are received.<br />

When will my deposit be processed?<br />

Deposits will be processed when registration<br />

forms are received. If <strong>the</strong>y are received prior <strong>to</strong><br />

February 1, <strong>the</strong> deposit will be processed and<br />

<strong>the</strong> form will be held until placement occurs on<br />

February 1.<br />

When is my camper considered<br />

confirmed?<br />

<strong>Camp</strong>ers are considered confirmed as soon<br />

as <strong>the</strong>ir registration is placed in <strong>the</strong>ir first or<br />

second choice camp program. You will be<br />

notified if <strong>the</strong> camp session you requested is<br />

full. If a second choice program is listed, you<br />

will be placed in that program.<br />

When do I pay for camp?<br />

Your camp bill will arrive with your confirmation<br />

packet. Payment of <strong>the</strong> camp fees is due no<br />

later than four weeks prior <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> start of <strong>the</strong><br />

session for which you have registered. Note:<br />

The council will accept VISA, MasterCard, and<br />

Discover credit cards.<br />

Can I use Cookie Credits <strong>to</strong> pay<br />

for camp?<br />

Due <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> volume of registrations we process,<br />

we CANNOT accept Cookie Credits for <strong>the</strong> $75<br />

deposit. However, once you have received<br />

your bill, you may use your Cookie Credits <strong>to</strong><br />

pay for <strong>the</strong> balance of your camp fees.<br />

Is financial assistance available?<br />

If you are within <strong>the</strong> <strong>Girl</strong> <strong>Scouts</strong> <strong>Heart</strong> of Central<br />

California jurisdiction and are a registered<br />

<strong>Girl</strong> Scout or want <strong>to</strong> become a <strong>Girl</strong> Scout, you<br />

are eligible <strong>to</strong> apply for financial help <strong>to</strong> attend<br />

<strong>Girl</strong> Scout resident camps. Please see <strong>the</strong><br />

forms section of <strong>the</strong> brochure for <strong>the</strong> requirements<br />

and Financial Assistance Form. If you<br />

live outside of <strong>the</strong> council’s jurisdiction, contact<br />

your local <strong>Girl</strong> Scout council for financial<br />

assistance information.<br />

If I’m not a <strong>Girl</strong> Scout are <strong>the</strong>re<br />

any special fees?<br />

An additional $12 fee will apply for any girl not<br />

registered as a <strong>Girl</strong> Scout by February 1, <strong>2013</strong>.<br />

Are campers covered by<br />

insurance?<br />

All campers are covered by sickness and accident<br />

insurance. The cost is included in <strong>the</strong><br />

camp fee.<br />

Will my daughter need a physical<br />

examination <strong>to</strong> attend camp?<br />

No. However, a current Health His<strong>to</strong>ry Form<br />

completed by <strong>the</strong> parents must be received<br />

by <strong>the</strong> program center four weeks prior <strong>to</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong>ir camp session. <strong>Camp</strong> can be physically<br />

demanding—although a physical examination<br />

is no longer required <strong>to</strong> attend camp, we<br />

recommend that you discuss camp with your<br />

health care provider and be clear about any<br />

restrictions <strong>to</strong> your camper’s activities on <strong>the</strong><br />

Health His<strong>to</strong>ry Form. The Health His<strong>to</strong>ry Form<br />

is available online.<br />

What is included in <strong>the</strong> camp fees?<br />

All camp fees include: supervision and instruction<br />

from trained staff, program activities,<br />

transportation, sickness/accident insurance,<br />

camp T-shirt, patch, daily meals, snacks, and<br />

a one-hour horseback riding session. Please<br />
