If you are using a winch to pull out your own vehicle,<br />

follow the winch manufacturer’s guidelines for self<br />

recovery and observe the following to prevent damage<br />

to your vehicle:<br />

• Do not self recover your vehicle by wrapping the<br />

winch cable around an object (such as pulley<br />

block or tree) and attaching it back to your vehicle’s<br />

recovery loops.<br />

• Always attach the winch cable directly to a solid<br />

anchor directly in the rear of your vehicle to<br />

achieve a straight line pull.<br />

Receiver Extension<br />

The receiver extension must be used any time you use<br />

the rear receiver.<br />

To install the rear receiver extension, do the following:<br />

1. Remove any debris from the rear receiver<br />

opening.<br />

2. Install the extension (A)<br />

and line up the hole on<br />

the back side of the<br />

rear bumper with hole<br />

of the extension.<br />

3. Install the retaining pin and spring clip exactly<br />

as the pintle hitch does. Refer to Pintle Hitch<br />

on page 4-11.<br />
