Did you know… • Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada, is Sovereign of the Order of Canada. • While in Canada for the Royal Tour from June 28 to July 5, 2010, The Queen inaugurated the register of the Royal Victorian Order. The Royal Victorian Order is awarded to Canadians for personal services to the Sovereign or her representatives in Canada. • More information on the 12 Canadians who received the order during her visit is available at www.gg.ca. All living Canadians, except sitting politicians and judges, can be nominated. Non-Canadian citizens are also eligible for an honorary appointment to any of the three levels of the Order, if their work can be shown to be of service to Canada. We particularly encourage nominations of women, under-represented minorities, and Canadians from remote regions of the country.
