NOTICE TO RETAILERS<br />
If wine and/or distilled spirits have been delivered to a retail<br />
licensee by a wholesaler or manufacturer on or before the<br />
PURCHASE DATE indicated in Column I, and payment is<br />
not received by the wholesaler on or before the<br />
corresponding DUE DATE listed in Column II, then the<br />
retailer is considered by state regulation to be overdue.<br />
Retailers can avoid most problems associated with late mail<br />
deliveries by mailing remittances at least five (5) days<br />
before the specified DUE DATES.<br />
Regulation 03.02.01.04 requires Maryland wholesalers and<br />
manufacturers who sell wine and distilled spirits to retailers<br />
to (1) report the retailer to the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax<br />
Bureau for late payment (even if payment was received after<br />
the due date) and (2) simultaneously notify the retailer that a<br />
report has been submitted to the Motor-fuel Alcohol and<br />
Tobacco Tax Regulatory Division. Reports and<br />
notifications must be made for all late payments. The<br />
MATT Regulatory Division will determine whether or not<br />
the retailer is placed on the credit control list.<br />
