23 rd Annual
May Merriment Benefit
May 19, 2012
Welcome to the 23 rd annual May Merriment Benefit. Tonight is a celebration of the community’s
continuous support toward our Mattoon YMCA.
We are immensely grateful to our donors for their generous support and commitment to help the
YMCA achieve their financial goals for the youth of our community. This major event helps our Y
keep its promise that no one is turned away due to inability to pay. The Y provides
approximately $178,000 in financial assistance annually to children and their families who otherwise
would not be able to participate in YMCA activities. These funds generated at the May Merriment
help us to further our commitment of Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social
Responsibility.
This evening would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of many volunteers. It
was an absolute privilege to work with passionate volunteers who believe so much in the value of
what the YMCA stands for.
We hope you have a wonderful evening.
