Dealers in the region, working to ensure owner satisfaction
and strengthen dealer relationships.
“Tucker has worked with both sides of this business, dealer
sales and manufacturing,” said Neil McCurdy, VP of Sales
for Grand Banks. “This makes him ideally suited for his new
position as RSM. He understands the challenges dealers
face, as well as the expectations of discerning customers.
And most importantly, he knows the tough requirements
that a manufacturer faces in managing a high quality dealer
network, and the responsibility that goes with delivering the
best boats we can build.”

Tucker is a long-time marine professional, as well as an
experienced boater with extensive knowledge of motor
yacht design and operation. Early in his career he worked
for Sunsail in Thailand, where he helped established and
grow their base of operations in Southeast Asia. Later he
returned to the US and started a long and successful career
with The Catamaran Company, he has been praised for his
successes and contributions to that company’s growth.
Although he has worked during recent years in Florida,
Tucker was born and raised in New England. He will be
based at Grand Banks offices in Newport, R.I., and is
excited about the opportunity to return to the area to raise
his family.
“The Northeast market is of critical importance, and I
am keenly aware of the need to ensure that whomever we
chose to represent us in this region must absolutely have
prior marine experience,” said McCurdy. “Tucker more than
satisfies this important requirement. I think Tucker brings a
terrific blend of skills and experience to a high-quality team
at Grand Banks.”

Brian Pemberton is not just a Grand Banks owner, he is an enthusiast, entrepreneur,
explorer, photographer (winner of a previous Spray contest) and all-around
accomplished yachtsman. As we write this, he is off on his latest venture with his
new charter company, Northwest Expeditions, cruising up the Inside Passage to
Alaska with a small flotilla of GBs. His own, a 49 Classic named Deception, is one
of those GBs making the trip, and we are sure that if there are kids aboard, they are
safe and sound.

One of Brian's latest inventions is a fabulous conversion on
a guest stateroom that converts easily into a protective bunk.
With flip-up side rails to prevent children from rolling out of
bed, it allows parents and grandparents great peace of mind
during the sleeping hours. Seeing as how Brian and his wife
Carol have five grandchildren, we figured he knew what he
was talking about.
