REGIONAL COUNCIL MINUTES 4 <strong>May</strong> 2, <strong>2006</strong><br />
1. INVOCATION<br />
Deputy <strong>May</strong>or Walker called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Councillor Murphy led the<br />
invocation.<br />
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES<br />
MOVED by Councillor McCluskey, seconded by Councillor Goucher that the minutes<br />
of the April 18, <strong>2006</strong> meeting of <strong>Halifax</strong> <strong>Regional</strong> Council, as distributed, be approved.<br />
MOTION PUT AND PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.<br />
3. APPROVAL OF THE ORDER OF BUSINESS AND APPROVAL OF ADDITIONS<br />
AND DELETIONS<br />
Addition:<br />
11.1 Contractual Matter - Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund ( MRIF) Project Proposal<br />
MOVED by Councillor Murphy, seconded by Councillor Sloane that the agenda, as<br />
amended, be approved. MOTION PUT AND PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.<br />
<strong>May</strong>or Kelly joined the meeting at 6:05 p.m.<br />
Councillor Sloane presented a cheque for $500 to <strong>May</strong>or Kelly from the North End Walkers.<br />
This group of women and men walk for both health reasons and to raise money for their<br />
community. The monies have been donated towards swing sets to be installed on the <strong>Halifax</strong><br />
Commons.<br />
<strong>May</strong>or Kelly assumed the Chair.<br />
Councillor Rankin recognized members of the Hatchett Lake Scout troop, Shad Bay, who are<br />
attending this meeting of Council to fulfill the requirements for their civic badge.<br />
Councillor Goucher invited residents of <strong>Halifax</strong> to the Bedford Arbor Day Festival, beginning<br />
at 10:30 a.m. on <strong>May</strong> 6, <strong>2006</strong> at Moirs Pond. The Councillor noted that the celebrations would<br />
include the ceremonial transfer of Moirs Pond to HRM.<br />
