How to use this quick reference guide
This quick reference guide provides a brief summary
of Member Services Programs available to Members
of Gumala Aboriginal Corporation (Gumala).
To find out more information, go to the Member Services Program
Guidelines book and look for the corresponding icon.
The Member Services Program Guidelines book
contains the full details about each program,
including all of the eligibility criteria.
For example, this
Program icon
How the funding works
Gumala Aboriginal Corporation is the Manager of the General Gumala
Foundation. Yandi Land Use Agreement compensation monies paid by
Rio Tinto are held in trust by Gumala Investments Pty Ltd (GIPL), which
is the independent Trustee of the General Gumala Foundation.
Gumala Aboriginal Corporation gets prior approval from the Trustee
to run every program. After we get approval from the Trustee, each
Member can apply to Gumala Aboriginal Corporation for funding
under each program. Every Member can only apply for a maximum
amount of funding, depending on the program (the Members
Services Guidelines book contains the maximum amounts).
Our Mission
The alleviation of poverty through proactive measures to achieve
economic, social and community development while promoting
and protecting the cultural values of the Traditional Owners.
