1. Major Programme
S6/S7 students
Students are required to complete a minimum of 69 units of Major courses as follows:

3. Major courses at 3000 and above level will be included in the calculation
of the Major GPA for honours classification. Courses with “#” are to be
included in the Major GPA as well.
4. Besides the Major courses mentioned in Note 3, all other ACEG, BMEG,
CENG, CSCI, ELEG, ENGG, MAEG and SEEM courses at 3000 and
above level taken by the students will also be included in the calculation
of the Major GPA.
5. Courses counted towards the fulfillment of the Major Elective
requirements should not be counted towards the fulfillment of a Minor
Programme and vice versa.
Students with associate degrees

2. Double Degree Programme in Mathematics and Information Engineering
This Double Degree Programme is jointly offered by Department of
Mathematics and Department of Information Engineering. Please refer to
Double Degree Programme in Mathematics and Information Engineering for
details about this programme.
The Second Degree awarded by the Double Degree Programme is Bachelor of
Engineering in Information Engineering. The four required courses for this
degree include ENGG2013, ELEG1110, IERG1001 and 1810, which together
account for 9 units. Students in the Double Degree Programme are granted the
exemption of substituting these 9 units, as a whole, with a pass in each of
MATH1030, 2010 and 2020 in fulfilling the requirements for Bachelor of
Engineering in Information Engineering. The exemption remains granted in
case that a student is transferred from the Double Degree Programme to the
Programme of Information Engineering.
3. Minor Programme
Two streams of study are available:
I. Telecommunications
The stream focuses on the fundamental principles, architectures, design, analysis, and
practices of telecommunications and networking system. This stream is suitable for
students with interests in the theory of and applications of mathematics to the study of
telecommunications systems.

Computer Networking

The stream focuses on the principles, architectures, design, and development of systems
for computer networks in general and the Internet in particular. This stream is suitable for
students with interests in computer networks, Internet software development and systems
design.

2. Students of the Information Engineering Minor Programme may seek
exemptions for up to 9 units. The following courses are exempted
automatically for the Information Engineering Minor students:

Programme requirements.
4. In any case, the total number of units exempted and used to fulfil both the
Major and Minor Programme requirements cannot exceed 9 units.
5. Major students minoring in Information Engineering are required to
declare which courses will be counted towards the fulfilment of the
requirements of the Minor Programme in Information Engineering at their
final term of attendance.
4. Double Degree Option
Information Engineering and Integrated BBA

stream to graduate. Thus a student may graduate with (1) no stream of
specialization as long as they satisfy the Major graduation
requirements listed above, or (2) a maximum of two streams of
specialization.
3. In addition to the courses listed for Non-Core Electives, students may
use up to 6 units of courses taken as part of the IBBA programme to
fulfil the Non-Core Electives requirement.
4. Major courses at 3000 and above level will be included in the
calculation of the Major GPA for honours classification. This
includes 3000-level courses offered by other departments in the
Engineering Faculty.
2. Requirements for BBA Degree in Integrated BBA Programme (the Second
Degree)
Students are required to complete a minimum of 63 units. For the detailed
requirements, students should refer to the latest version of the study scheme of
the IBBA programme applicable to their year of entry listed in the Student
