Our societies are undergoing far-reaching changes. The
new economic models that are emerging have to put man
back at their centre and go beyond the mere objective of
profit. We need to reflect on the founding values of our
societies, our relationship with the era, with ourselves, with
future generations and with our methods of development in
order to bring about a new economic paradigm that is fairer,
more balanced and more responsible: a so-called “positive”
economy in which the wealth that is created is not an end
in itself but a means to serve higher, ethical and altruistic
values. The positive economy is concerned about the
collective well-being and the preservation of the planet for
the benefit of the greatest number.
In 2012, PlaNet Finance Group and the City of Le Havre, in
partnership with the Agglomeration Community (CODAH),
the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIH) and
the Grand Port Maritime (GPMH), decided to launch the
LH Forum, the first international meeting of the positive
economy.

The 2 nd edition of the World Positive Economy Forum, to be held
in Le Havre from 25 to 27 September 2013, will bring together
more than 200 high-level speakers and over 3000 participants
(corporate and NGO directors, leading representatives from
academic, political and trade union fields) from all over the world
to meet in search of a more sustainable, more balanced and fairer
economy. As well as providing an opportunity for exchange and
debate, this event is also a pedagogic and awareness vector and
an incubator for innovation.

The positive economy carrefour, a new event for 2013, is a
platform dedicated to social entrepreneurs with the aim of
facilitating meetings with companies and investors to support
and fund social innovation.
The carrefour, which will be held at the Chamber of Commerce
and Industry of Le Havre on Wednesday 25 September afternoon
and Thursday 26 September morning, will be centred around
two formats :

Between practitioners and experts to encourage reflection on
three themes: social entrepreneurship, impact investing and
territorial animation devices.

At the same time as the conferences of the LH FORUM, the
Positive Economy Movement is launching a new format in
2013: positive economy workshops. To be held from 24 to 26
September 2013 in various iconic places around Le Havre, the
workshops will tackle cross-disciplinary and forward-looking
topics which affect our daily lives and which, even though they
are not always directly connected to the economic sphere,
strongly interact with it.
Involved in a genuine citizen’s action, around ten experts from very
different fields (artistic, academic, economic, political, industrial,
institutions, etc.) will be sharing their views and experiences, but
also their reflections on the future. These discussion sessions will
enable us to get a fresh look at certain sectors of activity, highlight
disciplines, promote practices which, in their own way and on their
own scale, contribute to a positive economy, but could also be
improved upon, find new growth levers, come up with new value
creation mechanisms …

For its second edition, the 2013 LH Forum will be organising the
LH Camp with OuiShare, a participatory workshop open to all to
jointly develop concrete proposals (entrepreneurial projects, local
government policies, citizens' initiatives) for development of the
positive economy across the land - using the example of the city of Le
Havre.
