Sie ist 26 und zieht mit Plastiktüten durch Berlin. In einer sind die Schallplatten,<br />
mit denen sie manchmal nachts als DJ Geld verdient. Morgens weiß<br />
sie meist noch nicht, wo sie in der Nacht schlafen wird. Sie lebt nur für die<br />
Gegenwart, bis sie eines Tages vom Tod ihrer Mutter erfährt. Ihre Reise in die<br />
heimatliche Provinz führt sie zurück in die eigene Vergangenheit und auf<br />
die Spur der fast unbekannten Mutter.<br />
Ich liebe Menschen, im Kino und in der Wirklichkeit, die sich konventionellen<br />
Lebensdramaturgien verweigern, die anecken, Brüche zeigen, stark sind<br />
und verletzlich, die lieber scheitern, als sich mit Vorsicht über die Runden zu<br />
retten.<br />

She’s twenty-six years old and travels about Berlin with her plastic bags in<br />
tow.One of them contains the records she plays as a DJ to earn money from<br />
time to time. Most mornings she doesn’t even know where she’ll be spending<br />
the night. She lives only for the present, until, one day, she hears of her<br />
mother’s death. Her journey to the small town where she grew up takes her<br />
back to her own past, looking for clues about the mother she barely knew.<br />
In cinema and in real life, I love people who eschew conventional lives. I love<br />
people who rub you up the wrong way, who allow the cracks to show<br />
through, who are strong and yet vulnerable, people who’d rather fail than<br />
pull through by being careful.<br />

A 26 ans, elle parcourt Berlin avec ses sacs en plastique. Dans l’un d’eux elle<br />
transporte ses disques car elle gagne parfois un peu d’argent comme dj, la<br />
nuit. Le matin, elle ignore généralement où elle dormira la nuit suivante. Elle<br />
vit sans penser au lendemain jusqu’au jour où elle apprend la mort de sa<br />
mère. Le voyage dans sa province natale est un retour vers son propre<br />
passé, sur les traces d’une mère qu’elle connaît à peine.<br />
Au cinéma et dans la réalité, j’aime les gens qui refusent la dramaturgie<br />
conventionnelle de la vie, qui se heurtent à tout le monde, qui montrent<br />
leurs failles, qui sont forts et vulnérables, qui préfèrent l’échec à la prudence<br />
pour tenir le coup jusqu’au bout.<br />

Biografie<br />
Geboren am 24.4.1960 in Hannover, aufgewachsen<br />
in Köln. Studium der Filmwissenschaft,<br />
Publizistik, Germanistik an der Freien<br />
Universität Berlin. Regieassistenzen u.a. bei<br />
George Tabori und Rosa von Praunheim und<br />
am Stadttheater Aachen. Regie- und Redaktionsassistenz<br />
in der Redaktion „Literatur<br />
und Kunst“ beim ZDF. Ab 1990 Studium an<br />
der Deutschen Film- und Fernsehakademie<br />
Berlin. ZOE ist ihr Abschlußfilm.<br />

at the Free University in Berlin.Worked<br />
as an assistant director for among others,<br />
George Tabori and Rosa von Praunheim and<br />
at Aachen City Theatre.Worked as an editorial<br />
assistant and assistant director in the<br />
cultural programming department at the<br />
station ZDF. Commenced studies at the German<br />
Film and Television Academy in Berlin<br />
in 1990. ZOE is her graduation film.<br />

l’allemand à l’Université Libre de Berlin.<br />
Assistante de mise en scène au théâtre<br />
municipal d’Aix-la-Chapelle, entre autres<br />
pour George Tabori et Rosa von Praunheim.<br />
Travaille aussi comme assistante à la rédaction<br />
et à la réalisation du magazine télévisé<br />
‘Literatur und Kunst’ de la chaîne ZDF. Etudie<br />
à l’académie allemande du cinéma et de la<br />
télévision de Berlin (DFFB) à partir de 1991.<br />
ZOE est son film de diplôme.<br />
