Jay, as most people knew<br />

him, grew up and received his<br />

education at <strong>Crane</strong>, Missouri. He<br />

served his country in the United<br />

States Army and returned back<br />

to Missouri where he had been<br />

a life-long resident. Jay was a<br />

supervisor for Tyson Foods until<br />

his retirement in 1989. He was<br />

an avid bowler who also enjoyed<br />

working with wood, fishing and<br />

hunting.<br />

Graveside services with<br />

military honors will be held at<br />

2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October<br />

19, 2010, in IOOF Cemetery,<br />

Monett, Missouri, under the<br />

direction of Fohn Funeral Home,<br />

Cassville, Missouri.<br />

Contributions in memory of<br />

Jay may be made to St. John’s<br />

Hospice in care of the funeral<br />

home.<br />

Dennis Blair Haygood, Galena,<br />

MO, was born September 7,<br />

1943 in Anchorage, AK and<br />

departed this life October 14,<br />

2010 at Cox Medical Center<br />

South, Springfield, MO, at the<br />

age of 67.<br />

Dennis had lived in the area<br />

since 1980 coming from Jurupa,<br />

CA. He was a captain for Ride<br />

the Ducks. Dennis loved working<br />

for Ride the Ducks and especially<br />

enjoyed visiting with the many<br />

tourists he met. He played Santa<br />

for a number of Christmas events<br />

and enjoyed helping people in<br />

the community. Dennis was of<br />

the Baptist faith.<br />

Dennis was preceded in death<br />

by his parents and wife, Judith.<br />

Survivors include two sons,<br />

William Paul Meredith of<br />

Riverside, CA and Mark Mead<br />

Meredith of Englewood, FL;<br />

one daughter, Lori Gomez<br />

of <strong>Crane</strong>, MO; one brother,<br />

Gary Haygood of Kilgore,<br />

TX; five grandchildren, Crysta<br />

Gomez, Jason Gomez, Karrsa<br />

Kieso, Montanna Meredith and<br />

Sienna Meredith; one greatgranddaughter,<br />

Elizabeth Kieso<br />

and a host of other relatives and<br />

friends.<br />

No services are planned.<br />

direction of Manlove-Stumpff<br />

Tillman<br />

Ira Wilbur Tillman, Galena,<br />

MO, son of Frank and Myrtle<br />

Tillman was born June 18, 1923<br />

near Conway, MO and departed<br />

this life, October 17, 2010, in his<br />

home at the age of 87.<br />

Mr. Will was converted in 1937<br />

at Happy Home Presbyterian<br />

<strong>Church</strong>. He had informed his<br />

family; he had everything taken<br />

care of and was ready to go home<br />

to be with the Lord.<br />

Mr. Will was preceded in death<br />

by his parents; daughter, Delores<br />

Ann at the age of 6 weeks and two<br />

brothers, Clovis and Freeman.<br />

Survivors include: his wife,<br />

Geri; six sons, Richard Tillman<br />

and wife, Shirley of Kimberling<br />

City, Michael Tillman and<br />

wife, Brenda of Grand Prairie,<br />

Texas, Jerry Dean Tillman of<br />

Springfield; A. W. Tillman and<br />

wife, Karen of Porter, Texas,<br />

James Tillman and wife, Mary of<br />

Springfield and Charles Tillman<br />

of Springfield; three daughters,<br />

Myrtle Lemaster and husband,<br />

Bobby of Springfield, twin<br />

daughters, Wilma Trantham and<br />

husband, Jimmy of Springfield<br />

and Willa Goodman and husband,<br />

Bobby of Springfield; one stepson,<br />

Dwayne Riddle and wife,<br />

Ronda of Stockton, CA; two<br />

step-daughters, Debbie Riddle<br />

of Lovington, New Mexico<br />

and Betty Calahan of Galena;<br />

24 grandchildren, 15 greatgrandchildren<br />

and a host of other<br />

relatives and friends.<br />

Funeral services will be held at<br />

2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October<br />

20, 2010 at Manlove-Stumpff<br />

Chapel, <strong>Crane</strong> with J. W. Oneal<br />

and David Berryhill officiating.<br />

Burial will be in Maple Park<br />

Cemetery, Springfield under the<br />

direction of Stumpff Funeral<br />

Homes.<br />

Visitation will be from 6:00 to<br />

8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral<br />

to follow in the Nolan Cemetery,<br />

near Galena, Missouri, under the<br />

direction of the Williams Funeral<br />

O’clock p.m. Wednesday, until<br />

Bertha Clara Edith, was born<br />

to James and Leona Bell Perkins<br />

Breckenridge, on October 20,<br />

1925, in <strong>Stone</strong> <strong>County</strong>, Missouri<br />

and she passed away at 2:26 a.m.<br />

Friday, October 15, 2010 in the<br />

Colonial Springs Nursing Home<br />

in Buffalo, Missouri, after a short<br />

illness.<br />

She was preceded in death by<br />

her husband, Rovin Hammonds,<br />

on March 28, 1983 her parents<br />

and 11 brothers and sisters, and a<br />

step grandson, Michael Elliott.<br />

Bertha, is survived by<br />

her daughter and son-inlaw,<br />

Barb and Bill Elliott of<br />

Urbana, Missouri, Grandson,<br />

Michael (Pete) Elliott, Step<br />

Granddaughter, Becky Agnew,<br />

sister, Beulah Winterowd of<br />

Springfield, Missouri, several<br />

nephews and nieces and many<br />

special friends.<br />

Wilson<br />

Mr. Kent Matthew Wilson, age<br />

49, of <strong>Crane</strong>, Mo., passed away<br />

on Sunday, October 17, 2010 in<br />

St. John’s Hospital, Springfield,<br />

Mo. He was born June 1, 1961<br />

in Springfield, Mo., the son of<br />

Lloyd William and Louvina Ivon<br />

(Medlin) Wilson.<br />

He was united in marriage to<br />

Heidi Hoover on July 2, 1994,<br />

and they were blessed with two<br />

children. Kent was Christian,<br />

and a family man, loving to spend<br />

time with his wife and children.<br />

He also enjoyed the outdoors,<br />

hunting, fishing, camping, and<br />

four wheeling.<br />

Kent was employed as a heavy<br />

equipment operator at construction<br />

sites.<br />

His parents; and four brothers,<br />

Homer, Billy Joe, Phillip, and<br />

Lloyd preceded Kent in death.<br />

He is survived by: his wife,<br />

Heidi, and their two children,<br />

Matthew and Shalaina, all of the<br />

home; eight brothers, George,<br />

Benny, Arvy, and Paul, all of<br />

<strong>Crane</strong>, Stanley of Abesville, James,<br />

of Haynesville, La., and David<br />

and Randy, both of <strong>Crane</strong>; three<br />

sisters, Mary Deckard and Jewell<br />

Wilson, both of Eugene, Ore., and<br />

Judy Lesure, of Highlandville;<br />

and many other relatives and close<br />

friends.<br />

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m.<br />

Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at<br />

Meadors Funeral Home in Clever.<br />

Funeral services will be held at<br />

2:00 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral<br />

home, with Pastor Rick Washam<br />

officiating. Burial followed in Mt.<br />
