3 Contacting lecturers<br />

Staff in trays – there is a staff in-tray in the School <strong>of</strong>fice. Students can leave messages for<br />

staff at Reception.<br />

Internal Phone – there is an internal telephone at reception with a list <strong>of</strong> phone numbers<br />

and e-mail addresses beside it.<br />

Email – Staff e-mail addresses can be found on the list at reception or on the address book<br />

in your <strong>University</strong> email. If you request an appointment by email, make sure you write<br />

‘Appointment request from tutee / <strong>student</strong>’ in the ‘subject’ area <strong>of</strong> your email. This will<br />

help tutors prioritise their email. Make sure you also give your Banner ID number and you<br />

full name, programme <strong>of</strong> study, year, etc. in the email.<br />

4 Day to Day <strong>information</strong><br />

Notice Boards are provided in the School <strong>of</strong> Architecture and Construction Reception and<br />

on the ground floor corridor for:<br />

• General school notices<br />

• Information related to each programme group.<br />

• Personal Tutors lists<br />

• Teaching timetables<br />

• Exhibitions, art galleries, open lectures, pr<strong>of</strong>essional <strong>information</strong> etc.<br />

• Day to day news (i.e. change <strong>of</strong> lecture room, class cancellation, etc.) is posted on<br />

the screen above the Reception desk<br />

You may also get news or notices via the portal or via your <strong>University</strong> email. It is<br />

crucial that you use your <strong>University</strong> email and check it regularly. Tutors and school<br />

staff are requested to use your <strong>University</strong> email if they wish to send <strong>information</strong>.<br />
