Conventional Coring
Fiberglass Inner Tubes
Fiberglass Inner Tubes improve core quality, recovery and rig time
efficiency. The glazed bore provides low-friction core entry, especially
suitable for soft or fractured formations. The disposable fiberglass
tube also serves as packaging to the laboratory, which protects the core
from direct contact. There’s no need to transfer the core from inner
tubes to sample boxes.
FIBERGLASS ALLOWS
ON-SITE ANALYSIS
Fiberglass Inner Tubes do not block the core’s
natural gamma radiation. Halliburton is able to
provide its unique on-site core analysis using
its Core Gamma Logger and Plug Taker.

Fiberglass tubes are supplied in the same standard sizes as aluminum for interchangeability. Sizes are 2-5/8 in.,
4 in. and 5-1/4 in. They are made from a composite material of glass fiber filaments and epoxy resin that
doesn’t react with drilling fluids, acids, salt or core fluids.
