Postgraduate Success
The focus of the Career Services Center is on a student’s postgraduate success. To
help you achieve your goals, our “career architects” will support you in identifying
your interests, values, and the transferable skills that are required for your career
field. Assessment tools such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator can pinpoint the
environment that will enable you to do your best work. Through a senior career
portfolio and coordinated workshops, you will find out how to effectively present
your qualifications and achievements, succinctly write a resume, and prepare for
the all-important job interview. The “Senior Program,” which begins in
September and continues throughout the year, includes seminars to identify
potential employers, career and graduate school fairs, on-campus interviews, and
individual strategy sessions.
If you are considering graduate school, the Career Services Center will help you
identify schools that meet your long term career goal, connect you to the pre-med
or pre-law student groups, or help you with the demanding task of completing
your applications.
Resources
Hartwick has dedicated considerable resources to career preparation. The staff
ensures timely access for all students. The Career Services Center takes full
advantage of Hartwick’s commitment to technology to enhance success. Students
have the use of computers in the Center to access the Internet to supplement our
resource library for employment opportunities, summer jobs, internships,
fellowships, and graduate school information. An interactive software tool,
Pinpoint, also is available for undeclared students to help them make their choice

In addition to on-campus resources, students can use the Career Services Center to
connect with alumni, parents, and friends of the College for career-related advice
and networking contacts. JobLink, a listing of employment opportunities
generated by the Hartwick network, is available to students throughout the year.
