Research Interests
My research interests are focused in the study of fish diseases in aquaculture and aquaria. My research interests and published work can be
allocated in 3 areas: Fish Pathology, Pharmacology and Toxicology.
In the area of Fish Pathology, I am mainly interested in parasites and viruses focused on the histopathological alterations they cause to their fish host
and the study of diseases in new species of aquaculture fish. Further, I am interested in alternative treatments in aquaculture with main focus on the
development of bacteriophage therapy.
In the area of Pharmacology and Toxicology, my main interests are the kinetics and toxicity of aquatic drugs as well as the design of new treatment
schemes with special reference on the identification of safe levels for the animals.
