Tasks Reduce Service
Calls and Downtime
Preventive maintenance is vital and there are simple, routine steps
you can take to reduce the need for a service agent or unexpected
downtime that can affect customer satisfaction and your revenues.
Coffee and Tea -- This equipment is among the easiest to maintain
because it is essentially a hot water delivery system. Removing the
sprayhead and using a deliming spring to periodically clean the
lime deposits will prevent blockages. Digital equipment can also be
programmed to remind staff.

This new facility will allow us to better
serve our customers within the Asia
Pacific region as well as many of the
global customers we service worldwide.
The new facility is located in Tsuen Wan,
Hong Kong. This warehouse will hold a
limited stock of a broad variety of our
products including equipment, decanters,
accessories and paper filters. Delivery
time to most locations within Asia for instock
items will range from 3-7 business
days. All international orders will continue
to be processed from our Springfield,
Illinois, USA office. Please send purchase
orders to your account administrator and
indicate that the order may be shipped
from the Hong Kong facility. Contact your
BUNN Sales Representative or Account
Administrator for additional details.
The global headquarters are located in
Springfield, Illinois, USA, where employees
strive for total customer satisfaction through

customer service with support from five
additional United States locations, as
well as warehouses or offices in Canada,
Mexico, Brazil, Germany, China and the
United Kingdom.
Hot Beverages from Powder -- A machine that dispenses
powder-based beverages may have more service issues because
of the sugared product for flavored coffees, hot chocolate, and
cappuccino. Also, the hoppers in the machine usually need to be
refilled frequently, so hopper misalignment and product spills inside
the machine can lead to clogs. This may seem like a service issue,
but the machine might just need to be thoroughly cleaned. Be sure
to follow the care and cleaning instructions carefully, and perform
daily rinses as directed.
Grinders -- You may notice problems with the volume or amount
of coffee ground. There is an easy way to establish a self-check
guide before resorting to a service call. When you first receive the
machine, or when you achieve a grind that gives optimum flavor,
save a portion of the grind in a clear, airtight bag. If you suspect
the grind is inaccurate in the future, compare it to the reserved
sample through a visual comparison. Also, the regular use of
grinder cleaning tablets will significantly protect and enhance the
equipment’s performance.
Granita -- In the case of granita machines, the air filters must
be kept clean. If the filter is dirty, the beverage product won’t
freeze. Also, a granita machine dispenses sugared product so it
needs to be well lubricated to prevent build up on parts, which is
the cause of leaks and drips. Another frequent problem is related
to inadequate mixing of the beverage liquid product which results
in incorrect sugar content. Called “brix,” the sugar content of the
product controls whether or not it will freeze. If the product won’t
freeze, you may think the beverage equipment needs service. In
reality, the product may not be mixed correctly.

BUNN was extremely pleased to
be invited by the Coffee Board of
India to take part in the Skill Building
Workshops held in Delhi , India, along
with participating at the Indian
Coffee Festival this past January 18-
20. The workshop topic was “The Art
and Science of Brewing Filter Coffee”
presented by Lina Chiodo. The workshop
was very well attended, interactive,
and the exchange of knowledge
and information was received with
enthusiasm. Excellent dialogue ensued,
along with tasting of a few coffees
brewed correctly and incorrectly
to further share the importance of
time, temperature, turbulence, and
technology.
The Coffee Festival had historically
been held in Bangalore. The intent
to move the festival to Delhi, a long
standing tea drinking region, was well
received and supported with a strong
attendance from all of India, the Middle
East, and Europe.

For the first time BUNN exhibited their
product line in their own stand and
much interest was generated. Many
attendees enjoyed tasting, in some
cases for the first time, filtered brewed
coffee on our trifecta ® single cup. We
brewed Indian coffees which included,
Monsoon Malabar, naturally processed
finest Cherry robusta, and Arabica from
Athikan Estate, which was winner of the
2011 Flavour of India fine cup award. The
coffees were procured for us by one
of the industry’s most knowledgeable
experts, Sunnalini Menon, Coffee Lab,
Bangalore.

Hoteres japan

SHOWS
The combined “HOTERES JAPAN”,
“CATEREX JAPAN”, and “JAPAN FOOD
SERVICE EQUIPMENT SHOW”, is an
exhibition focused on commercial
food and beverage equipment,
tableware, IT systems, furniture and
decor for the HORECA market.
It is the largest exhibition in Japan,
with 2,000 exhibiting companies and
approximately 90,000 attendees.
BUNN has been participating in the
show for over 10 years; we had a fine
representation again this year through
our distributors EPIC Corporation and
Hayakawa Sanki, Inc.

The Expo Café & Gourmet
Guadalajara experienced increased
attendance during its second year
this February 2012.
The beverage category in Mexico is
growing rapidly as more and more
individuals understand the profit
potential in the non-carbonated
beverage category. Attendees have
found that quality designed, reliable
equipment is a key to quality arriving
in the cup.

Aahar is recognized as one of the
leading events in India. A total of 12
countries participate in the shows
including Australia, China, Canada,

over 18,000 professional visitors.

Marcelo Lepeley
Marcelo has joined BUNN as an Account
Administrator for Latin America. Marcelo
received his Bachelors Degree in Business
Administration from the University of
Chile. He was previously employed by
GSI as an International customer service
manager and as an International sales
coordinator. He has also worked at ADM
as a supervisor of Contract Management
and Vessel Settlement Coordinator.

Avi Sandler
We are pleased to announce the promotion
of Avi Sandler to Vice President and General
Manager of Mexico. Avi’s contribution
to the BUNN Mexico business has been
significant in the last couple of years as the
Sales Director for Mexico. He and his team
have developed important projects and
customers in Mexico. BUNN Mexico’s future
is very promising and we are confident will
continue to grow under Avi’s direction.

The Gulfood show is held each year
at the Dubai International Convention
and Expo Centre. Exhibitor
attendance for this show has been
increasing yearly, causing many
stands to be setup in hall entrances.
The UAE economy is currently growing
which was reflected in Hotels at
overcapacity. The show provided
us with many great opportunities to
meet with our customers. Overall a
great success.
