Preventive maintenance is vital and there are simple, routine steps<br />

you can take to reduce the need for a service agent or unexpected<br />

downtime that can affect customer satisfaction and your revenues.<br />

Coffee and Tea -- This equipment is among the easiest to maintain<br />

because it is essentially a hot water delivery system. Removing the<br />

sprayhead and using a deliming spring to periodically clean the<br />

lime deposits will prevent blockages. Digital equipment can also be<br />

programmed to remind staff.<br />

Pacific region as well as many of the<br />

global customers we service worldwide.<br />

The new facility is located in Tsuen Wan,<br />

Hong Kong. This warehouse will hold a<br />

limited stock of a broad variety of our<br />

products including equipment, decanters,<br />

accessories and paper filters. Delivery<br />

time to most locations within Asia for instock<br />

items will range from 3-7 business<br />

days. All international orders will continue<br />

to be processed from our Springfield,<br />

Illinois, USA office. Please send purchase<br />

orders to your account administrator and<br />

indicate that the order may be shipped<br />

from the Hong Kong facility. Contact your<br />

BUNN Sales Representative or Account<br />

Administrator for additional details.<br />

The global headquarters are located in<br />

Springfield, Illinois, USA, where employees<br />

United Kingdom.<br />

Hot Beverages from Powder -- A machine that dispenses<br />

powder-based beverages may have more service issues because<br />

of the sugared product for flavored coffees, hot chocolate, and<br />

cappuccino. Also, the hoppers in the machine usually need to be<br />

refilled frequently, so hopper misalignment and product spills inside<br />

the machine can lead to clogs. This may seem like a service issue,<br />

but the machine might just need to be thoroughly cleaned. Be sure<br />

to follow the care and cleaning instructions carefully, and perform<br />

daily rinses as directed.<br />

Grinders -- You may notice problems with the volume or amount<br />

of coffee ground. There is an easy way to establish a self-check<br />

guide before resorting to a service call. When you first receive the<br />

machine, or when you achieve a grind that gives optimum flavor,<br />

save a portion of the grind in a clear, airtight bag. If you suspect<br />

the grind is inaccurate in the future, compare it to the reserved<br />

sample through a visual comparison. Also, the regular use of<br />

grinder cleaning tablets will significantly protect and enhance the<br />

equipment’s performance.<br />

Granita -- In the case of granita machines, the air filters must<br />

be kept clean. If the filter is dirty, the beverage product won’t<br />

freeze. Also, a granita machine dispenses sugared product so it<br />

needs to be well lubricated to prevent build up on parts, which is<br />

the cause of leaks and drips. Another frequent problem is related<br />

to inadequate mixing of the beverage liquid product which results<br />

in incorrect sugar content. Called “brix,” the sugar content of the<br />

product controls whether or not it will freeze. If the product won’t<br />

freeze, you may think the beverage equipment needs service. In<br />

reality, the product may not be mixed correctly.

BUNN was extremely pleased to<br />

be invited by the Coffee Board of<br />

India to take part in the Skill Building<br />

Workshops held in Delhi , India, along<br />

with participating at the Indian<br />

Coffee Festival this past January 18-<br />

20. The workshop topic was “The Art<br />

and Science of Brewing Filter Coffee”<br />

presented by Lina Chiodo. The workshop<br />

was very well attended, interactive,<br />

and the exchange of knowledge<br />

and information was received with<br />

enthusiasm. Excellent dialogue ensued,<br />

along with tasting of a few coffees<br />

brewed correctly and incorrectly<br />

to further share the importance of<br />

time, temperature, turbulence, and<br />

technology.<br />

The Coffee Festival had historically<br />

been held in Bangalore. The intent<br />

to move the festival to Delhi, a long<br />

standing tea drinking region, was well<br />

received and supported with a strong<br />

attendance from all of India, the Middle<br />

East, and Europe.<br />

For the first time BUNN exhibited their<br />

product line in their own stand and<br />

much interest was generated. Many<br />

attendees enjoyed tasting, in some<br />

cases for the first time, filtered brewed<br />

coffee on our trifecta ® single cup. We<br />

brewed Indian coffees which included,<br />

Monsoon Malabar, naturally processed<br />

finest Cherry robusta, and Arabica from<br />

Athikan Estate, which was winner of the<br />

2011 Flavour of India fine cup award. The<br />

coffees were procured for us by one<br />

of the industry’s most knowledgeable<br />

experts, Sunnalini Menon, Coffee Lab,<br />

Bangalore.

The combined “HOTERES JAPAN”,<br />

“CATEREX JAPAN”, and “JAPAN FOOD<br />

SERVICE EQUIPMENT SHOW”, is an<br />

exhibition focused on commercial<br />

food and beverage equipment,<br />

tableware, IT systems, furniture and<br />

decor for the HORECA market.<br />

It is the largest exhibition in Japan,<br />

with 2,000 exhibiting companies and<br />

approximately 90,000 attendees.<br />

BUNN has been participating in the<br />

show for over 10 years; we had a fine<br />

representation again this year through<br />

our distributors EPIC Corporation and<br />

Hayakawa Sanki, Inc.<br />

Guadalajara experienced increased<br />

attendance during its second year<br />

this February 2012.<br />

The beverage category in Mexico is<br />

growing rapidly as more and more<br />

individuals understand the profit<br />

potential in the non-carbonated<br />

beverage category. Attendees have<br />

found that quality designed, reliable<br />

equipment is a key to quality arriving<br />

in the cup.<br />

over 18,000 professional visitors.<br />

Marcelo Lepeley<br />

Marcelo has joined BUNN as an Account<br />

Administrator for Latin America. Marcelo<br />

received his Bachelors Degree in Business<br />

Administration from the University of<br />

Chile. He was previously employed by<br />

GSI as an International customer service<br />

manager and as an International sales<br />

coordinator. He has also worked at ADM<br />

as a supervisor of Contract Management<br />

and Vessel Settlement Coordinator.<br />

We are pleased to announce the promotion<br />

of Avi Sandler to Vice President and General<br />

Manager of Mexico. Avi’s contribution<br />

to the BUNN Mexico business has been<br />

significant in the last couple of years as the<br />

Sales Director for Mexico. He and his team<br />

have developed important projects and<br />

customers in Mexico. BUNN Mexico’s future<br />

is very promising and we are confident will<br />

continue to grow under Avi’s direction.<br />

and Expo Centre. Exhibitor<br />

attendance for this show has been<br />

increasing yearly, causing many<br />

stands to be setup in hall entrances.<br />

The UAE economy is currently growing<br />

which was reflected in Hotels at<br />

overcapacity. The show provided<br />

us with many great opportunities to<br />

meet with our customers. Overall a<br />

great success.<br />
