The Resource manager needs to develop and maintain a long-term view<br />

technologies up to market introduction within his technology area.<br />
Functionary calculates the necessary human capacity and other<br />
resources and the required budgets. If necessary, he / she adapts the<br />
organization. Functionary has to judge if the existing knowledge of<br />
technology is sufficient to fulfill the tasks. If not, outsourcing or hiring<br />
temporary specialists will have to be arranged, or competence will have<br />
to be developed.<br />
Functionary is also responsible for the efficiency and quality of his / her<br />
group and gets therefore regular reports from support functions like F&A,<br />
HRM, Quality, and Purchasing.<br />

Anton Arts, Partner, is a senior investment professional with<br />
extensive experience as a board member of a broad range of<br />
international technology companies in the start-up and development<br />
phase across Europe. In June 2005, Anton joined New Venture<br />
Partners to identify and develop investment opportunities arising from<br />
New Venture Partner's relationship with Philips and other European<br />
corporate partners. In addition, he is an advisor to the municipal<br />
broadband initiative of the city of Amsterdam, Israel seed fund Cedar<br />
Funds and a Dutch wireless start-up. His areas of expertise include<br />
communication equipment, semiconductors, wireless, optical<br />
components, infrastructure software and other enabling<br />
technologies.Before, he was a Partner at Gilde IT Fund, a leading<br />
international venture capital fund based in the Netherlands that he<br />
joined in 1997. While there, he was responsible for twelve<br />
investments in technology companies Europe, Israel and the United<br />
States. Exits include Cambridge Silicon Radio (Europe's most<br />
succesful technology IPO in 2004), No Wires Needed (acquired by<br />
Intersil) and SLP Infoware (acquired by Gemplus). Prior to that,<br />
Anton was involved in the full cycle of business building through to<br />
exit as the assistant to the CEO of Uniface, a Dutch software<br />
company that grew to 600 people before being acquired by a<br />
Compuware Corporation. He started his career as a business analyst<br />
