MARINE LIABILITY
BaoViet’s Marine Insurance offers a wide range of

For client liability as stevedore for third-party property
damage and bodily injury arising out of vessel
loading and unloading operations.
Wharfinger’s Liability

HSBC first opened an office in Saigon (now Ho Chi
Minh City) in 1870. In August 1995, HSBC opened a
full-service branch in Ho Chi Minh City. In 2005,

bank to increase its stake in Techcombank to 15 per

increase of its stake in Techcombank to 20 per cent,
becoming the first foreign bank in Vietnam to hold 20
per cent stake in a domestic bank.
In January 2009, HSBC started operating its locally
incorporated entity and became the first foreign bank
to incorporate in Vietnam. The new entity, HSBC
Bank (Vietnam) Ltd., is headquartered at the Metropolitan
Building, 235 Dong Khoi Street, District 1, Ho
Chi Minh City.

HSBC Insurance (Asia Pacific) Holdings Limited, a
wholly-owned subsidiary of The Hongkong and
Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, is the parent
company of four underwriting companies: HSBC
Insurance (Asia) Limited; HSBC Life (International)
Limited; HSBC Insurance (Singapore) Pte. Limited;
and HSBC Amanah Takaful (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (49
per cent held). Its shareholdings also include 50 per
cent less one share of Hana HSBC Life Insurance
Co., Ltd in Korea, 26 per cent of Canara HSBC
Oriental Bank of Commerce Life Insurance Co. Ltd
