As Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee was such a great day of celebration<br />
for the nation, newspapers were full with reports on everything<br />
Jubilee related. Below are some Newspaper clippings from<br />
the time. Read them and then answer the questions.<br />
QUEEN’S WEEK<br />
This week it is the Jubilee and nothing but the jubilee. ..The great wave of<br />
loyalty, which has been gathering force for months, culminated (ended) on<br />
Tuesday in the most wonderful tribute ever paid to any sovereign in the<br />
world’s history...In the history of <strong>Hull</strong>, the year will be remembered with<br />
the elevation from town to the rank and dignity of a City.<br />

T.P. AND THE JUBILEE<br />
Speaking at Manchester, Mr. TP O’Connor, M.P., has declared<br />
his intention of not witnessing the Jubilee ceremony, because<br />
the reign of Queen Victoria has been disastrous to Ireland's<br />
interests.<br />
