09:00~12:00AM and 1:00~….PM Teamwork with Supervisors
Before you begin this working day, we made a brief round of what had been done and what
remains to be done ... The supervisor reminded us of the aims of the Week HydroAsia ... For him it
would be preferable start modeling on the two following software: SWMM and Mouse.
Also during this morning we were able to install the software modeling and operate as it
should be the software. We now have 2 computers running Mouse and two others running SWMM.
We try to use these two software packages to compare the results. Our team conducted the
flood simulation on MOUSE in several cases and we try to obtain some various results.
The following steps were done during the online and face to face meetings periods.
• constructing the model
• checking the model
• adding boundary conditions
• applying new pipe network
• inspecting the result
Before conducting the calculation, MOUSE requires several input data as follows like nodes
(Manholes), linkes (Pipes), catchments, time series (Rainfall). We obtained all files for preparing those
data from Hydro Asia website.
Finally we convert all these data to input data files as MOUSE can accept through simple
operation by programs. With simple steps, those data transfer to input data on MOUSE and applied
to the model. They are operated by copy all excel data to Mouse in Import window.
And after we ran the model in the simplest condition to make sure whether the model works
normally or not. Although we found the mistakes in import procedures that made too much flood,
we finally succeeded to run the model properly after correcting the problems.
The detailed results and inspection are showed in other reports.
So we try to do the same with SWMM but we didn’t obtain the same facilities!!
Benjamin on this day is still working on ArcGIS.
