3. MAJOR INCIDENT
An incident resulting in a spill or release of oil or hazardous materials that requires
the evacuation or sheltering of nearby residents or businesses or that is a serious
environmental threat. It will probably involve activation of the Oregon Emergency
Operations Plan. The situation will require state technical assistance, a Regional
Hazmat Team, and if needed, Federal assistance.
