6. Occasional Maintenance (Periodic)<br />

These are the maintenance activities that may be required somewhere on a<br />

gravel or paved road section or link after a period of a number of years. The<br />

category of repair depends on the type of road surface constructed. All of<br />

the Occasional Maintenance tasks may be carried out manually with the aid<br />

of simple tools or equipment.<br />
