RECRUITMENT OF STAFF ON CONTRACT BASIS<br />

<strong>IDRBT</strong>, the premier Institute of Banking Technology in the country, spearheads efforts in providing state-ofthe-art<br />

technologies for the Banking and Financial Sector. The Institute interfaces Research and Development,<br />

Academics, Executive Education, Practice and Consultancy. The Institute invites applications for the following<br />

positions:<br />

1) Three TECHNOLOGY MANAGERS for STRATEGIC BUSINESS UNIT<br />

Background<br />

<strong>IDRBT</strong>’s Strategic Business Unit is the premier technology service provider for banks in India. It offers<br />

various technology services such as the INdian FInancial NETwork (INFINET); Structured Financial<br />

Messaging System (SFMS); and Certifying Authority Services (CA); which are critical for the payment systems<br />

of the country and also manages the Indian Banking Technology Consortium (IBTC).<br />

Qualification<br />

First Class Graduation and Post Graduation in Engineering (B.Tech. and M.Tech. in Computer Science and<br />

Engineering or Information Technology or Electronics or Communications Engineering or Embedded<br />

Systems or VLSI Design or Information Security or equivalent) with a very good academic record throughout.<br />

Experience<br />

The professional should have a minimum of five years of post-qualification hands-on experience in the IT<br />

Industry or IT Dept. of reputed Organizations / Banks / Government / Institutions and should have<br />

specialised in one of the following three areas:<br />

(i)<br />

Networking: Proven hands-on experience in Network Implementation, Management, Operation,<br />

Maintenance of large critical and complex communication networks, Multiple Links Integration,<br />

Network Monitoring, Hardware (including routers, switches) and components such as Firewalls, IDS,<br />

IPS, DNS, Security Components and Technologies relating to LAN, WAN as well as point-to-point<br />

connectivity, MPLS, Network Monitoring Systems, Managed Services, etc., in a large critical<br />

establishment.<br />

(ii) Cyber Security: Proven hands-on experience in Information Security, Implementation, IS<br />

Management, Cyber Patrolling, Security Engines, Unified Threat Monitoring, Cyber Hardening,<br />

Network Security, Privacy, Compliance, Governance, Anti-phishing and Anti-hacking Technologies,<br />

IT Forensics, Emergency Response Measures, etc., in a large critical establishment<br />

(iii)<br />

Hardware: Proven hands-on experience in Servers, Clusters, Operating Systems, Virtualisation,<br />

Enterprise-level Approach, Sizing, Agility, Storage, Usability, Benchmarking, Devices, Cloud,<br />

Architectures, Standards, IT Operations, Information Systems, Data Centre Management, etc., in a<br />

large critical establishment.<br />

2) Two RESEARCH OFFICERS<br />

Background<br />

Consequent to the recommendations of an Expert Committee headed by Dr. C. Rangarajan, Chairman, Prime<br />

Minister’s Economic Advisory Council, <strong>IDRBT</strong> has initiated ambitious plans to scale up its Research &<br />

Academic Activities. The Institute’s Focal Areas of Research are:<br />

Security Technologies for the Financial Sector<br />

Financial Information Systems and Business Intelligence<br />

The Institute offers a Ph.D Programme in Computer Science and Information Technology and an M.Tech. in<br />

Information Technology (with specialization in Banking Technology and Information Security) in association<br />

with the University of Hyderabad. The Institute also offers Training Programmes in various areas of<br />

Technology for Banking & Financial Sector.<br />

The Research Officers are expected to actively contribute to all the Research and Academic Activities of the<br />

Institute and teach in the Training Programmes of the Institute.<br />

Qualification<br />

First Class Graduation and Post Graduation in Engineering (B.Tech. and M.Tech. in Computer Science and<br />

Engineering or Information Technology or Electronics or Communications Engineering or Embedded<br />

Systems or VLSI Design or Information Security or equivalent), a very good academic record throughout;<br />

excellent research, teaching and communication skills.<br />

Experience<br />

The candidates should have a keen proven interest in Research and Academics (evidenced through good<br />

publications) and possess a minimum of three years of post-qualification Research and Teaching experience in<br />

any of the focal Areas of Research of the Institute.<br />

The selected candidates should work in the areas related to: a) Open Source Technologies; b) Information<br />

Security, etc.<br />

3) One INTERNAL AUDITOR<br />

Qualification<br />

A Chartered Accountant (at least Inter passed).<br />

Experience<br />

Candidates should have worked at least at the level of Chief Manager in a Public Sector Bank and been responsible<br />

for the Auditing function in the Bank for a minimum period of three years. The candidate should have relevant<br />

expertise for carrying out Audit of Accounting / Financial function independently. Candidates with exposure to IT<br />

environment would be preferred.<br />

Candidates who have recently superannuated (in the last one year) or have taken VRS from a Public Sector Bank<br />

with in-depth hands-on exposure to Auditing may also apply.<br />

Other Rules & Regulations<br />

1. All the above positions are on a contract basis for a period of three years. Subject to outstanding<br />

performance, the contract term may be extended for a further period of two years.<br />

2. An attractive compensation on a CTC basis would be offered to all the selected candidates.<br />

Remuneration shall not be a constraint for the right candidate.<br />

3. While the positions of Technology Managers are based in Mumbai / Hyderabad; the<br />

positions of Research Officers and Internal Auditor is based in Hyderabad.<br />

4. Candidates can also take up the position of Technology Managers while on a Sabbatical from<br />

their organizations, subject to their parent organization issuing a ‘no-objection’ to the<br />

candidate to take up the assignment, if selected by <strong>IDRBT</strong>.<br />

5. The position of Technology Managers is open on a Deputation basis for the officers working<br />

in the Indian Banking and Financial Sector. The Institute may offer on merit, at the time of<br />

joining, One Scale Higher to the Executives up to the level of Scale III, taken on deputation<br />

from Commercial Banks.<br />

6. In the case of outstanding candidates with longer experience in the specific above-mentioned areas,<br />

the Institute may consider relaxing educational qualifications.<br />

7. The selected candidates will be working at a premier Institute and can look forward to highly satisfying<br />

and rewarding work.<br />

8. Candidates should have excellent academic record, good communication skills, and a sincere<br />

commitment towards implementing the best in technology for the Banking and Financial Sector.<br />

9. Candidates should satisfy themselves about their eligibility for the post applied for. Mere fulfilment of<br />

eligibility does not guarantee shortlisting for Selection Process.<br />

10. Candidates should not enclose any certificates or copies thereof with the application. The candidature<br />

will be considered on the strength of the information declared in the Covering Letter and CV. If at any<br />

stage, it is found that any information furnished in the CV / Covering Letter is false / incorrect or if<br />

according to the Institute, the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria, his<br />

candidature/appointment is liable to be cancelled /terminated at any point in time.<br />

11. All educational qualifications must have must have been obtained from recognized<br />

universities/institutions in India or abroad. If grades are awarded instead of marks, candidates should<br />

clearly indicate their numerical equivalent.<br />

12. Candidates employed in Banks/Government/Semi-Government Organisations or Educational<br />

Institutions must apply through proper channel or get a no-objection certificate at the time of<br />

interview. Candidates applying for consideration on sabbatical also need to get no-objection certificate<br />

at the time of interview.<br />

13. The Institute reserves the rights to screen and call only such candidates as are found prima-facie<br />

suitable for being considered by the Selection Committee. The Institute also reserves the right to<br />

restrict the candidates called for to the selection process to a reasonable number on the basis of<br />

qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed herein and the requirements of the<br />

Institute. Thus, just fulfilling the prescribed conditions would not entitle one to be called for the<br />

Selection Process.<br />

14. The Institute reserves the right to fill or not to fill any or all the posts advertised. The Institute at its<br />

discretion may relax the minimum requirements in case of outstanding candidates.<br />

15. In all matters regarding Eligibility, Compensation, Contract Term, Selection Process, Assessment,<br />

Prescribing Minimum Qualifying Standards in Selection Process, and Communication of Result, the<br />

Institute’s decision shall be final and binding on the candidates and no correspondence shall be<br />

entertained in this regard.<br />

16. <strong>No</strong> correspondence will be entertained from candidates regarding postal delays, conduct & result of<br />

selection process and reasons for not being called for the selection process.<br />

17. Candidates applying for the position of Research Officers may forward copies of two of their<br />

publications. The details of the courses taught by them should also be mentioned in their CV.<br />
