Mesogean basins. In the last (Mid Turonian) sequence,
dolostone facies remain, followed by marls and, atop
them, a thin but significant sandy unit with paleosoils
(“Arenas de Somolinos”; Segura et al., 1999) (Figure
34), which ends the Upper Albian to Middle Turonian
sedimentary cycle, characterized by a succession of
eustatic rises reaching their maximum globally in the
Lower Turonian.
