Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist
Classification: Band 5
Salary Range: $2186.35 - $3025.88 Semi-monthly (Field Hours)
Term: Full-time Permanent Position
Location: Saskatoon office
Tourism Saskatchewan is looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist to work in our Saskatoon office. This
position will implement assigned components of the business plan and functional objectives that relate to
the creation of support programs and materials for the Quality Assurance Program (QAP).
The duties of this position are:
Provide presentations on the program and training information to industry groups.
Assess best ways to provide training for sector including, in consultation with STEC, provide
recommendations to Program Director of Quality Assurance regarding best ways to deliver such
training.
Work with the STEC Division to create training materials required for the QAP.
Coordinate the development, adaptation, and delivery of training for the QAP Streams.
Work with the Communications Team to ensure training materials follow a consistent approach
and look.
Pilot test, evaluate, and revise training programs to ensure that they meet the needs of all
tourism industries.
Work with Program Director of Quality Assurance to identify requirements for electronic
assessment tools.
Work with the eBusiness and Technology Team and I/T service providers to ensure that
programs built meet set objectives.
Work with Program Director of Quality Assurance to identify skills and knowledge required of
assessors.
Create training plans for assessors.
Recruit, train, monitor, and provide ongoing support to assessors.
Participate in program planning meetings.
Maintain security and confidentiality of all data.
Attend Industry Validation Committee Meetings.
Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the marketing and
communications plans for the Quality Assurance Program.
Working with the Program Director of Quality Assurance, prepare updates and articles for
inclusion in sectoral newsletters.
Communicate with suppliers regarding contracts and projects.
Communicate with industry and other Tourism Saskatchewan staff regarding project progress.

Respond to inquiries about the program, using discretion to forward inquiries when appropriate.
Working with Program Director of Quality Assurance, determine best ways to evaluate and
measure program success and then implement those programs.
Manage online information, including maintenance of the FAQ section of website, as well as
replying to questions about the program.
Research and update information on the value and return on investment of Quality Assurance to
business and organizational success in general, and in the tourism sector specifically.
Promote the Quality Assurance Program to Saskatchewan’s tourism sector.
Working with the Program Director of Quality Assurance, identify funding partners, initiate
proposals and complete proposal and application processes for submission upon final approval of
Program Director.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
The knowledge, skills, and abilities required are:
Post-secondary education in tourism, business administration, or a related field, or a combination
of education and experience is required.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in program management and delivery is required.
Must have proven experience in developing and delivering effective presentations to both small
and large groups.
Knowledge of processes required to develop training programs is necessary.
Demonstrated experience in management of projects of complex, multi-disciplinary scope with
multiple stakeholders.
Successful previous experience in change management processes is an asset.
Previous experience working with suppliers (experience working with contractors to develop I/T
based applications is an asset) is an asset.
Experience in developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies is
required.
Demonstrated strong organizational, planning, and time management skills, and the ability to
multi-task and prioritize while working within a team environment is necessary.
Must be able to work independently.
Demonstrated ability in use of current computer applications (including Word, PowerPoint, and
Excel).
Previous experience working in a Content Management System is an asset.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills, including strong leadership, team skills, and cultural
sensitivities.
Must be customer-service focused.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
Must be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and enthusiasm.
An ability to take creative approach to challenges is required.
Strong critical and analytical thinking skills are an asset.

Knowledge of Saskatchewan’s tourism sector is an asset.
Valid driver’s license is required, and the flexibility to travel extensively.
