Term: Full-time Permanent Position<br />
Location: Saskatoon office<br />
Tourism Saskatchewan is looking for a <strong>Quality</strong> <strong>Assurance</strong> <strong>Specialist</strong> to work in our Saskatoon office. This<br />
position will implement assigned components of the business plan and functional objectives that relate to<br />
the creation of support programs and materials for the <strong>Quality</strong> <strong>Assurance</strong> Program (QAP).<br />
The duties of this position are:<br />
Provide presentations on the program and training information to industry groups.<br />
Assess best ways to provide training for sector including, in consultation with STEC, provide<br />
recommendations to Program Director of <strong>Quality</strong> <strong>Assurance</strong> regarding best ways to deliver such<br />
training.<br />
Work with the STEC Division to create training materials required for the QAP.<br />
Coordinate the development, adaptation, and delivery of training for the QAP Streams.<br />
Work with the Communications Team to ensure training materials follow a consistent approach<br />
and look.<br />
Pilot test, evaluate, and revise training programs to ensure that they meet the needs of all<br />
tourism industries.<br />
Work with Program Director of <strong>Quality</strong> <strong>Assurance</strong> to identify requirements for electronic<br />
assessment tools.<br />
Work with the eBusiness and Technology Team and I/T service providers to ensure that<br />
programs built meet set objectives.<br />
Work with Program Director of <strong>Quality</strong> <strong>Assurance</strong> to identify skills and knowledge required of<br />
assessors.<br />
Create training plans for assessors.<br />
Recruit, train, monitor, and provide ongoing support to assessors.<br />
Participate in program planning meetings.<br />
Maintain security and confidentiality of all data.<br />
Attend Industry Validation Committee Meetings.<br />
Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the marketing and<br />
communications plans for the <strong>Quality</strong> <strong>Assurance</strong> Program.<br />
Working with the Program Director of <strong>Quality</strong> <strong>Assurance</strong>, prepare updates and articles for<br />
inclusion in sectoral newsletters.<br />
Communicate with suppliers regarding contracts and projects.<br />
Communicate with industry and other Tourism Saskatchewan staff regarding project progress.
Respond to inquiries about the program, using discretion to forward inquiries when appropriate.<br />
Working with Program Director of <strong>Quality</strong> <strong>Assurance</strong>, determine best ways to evaluate and<br />
measure program success and then implement those programs.<br />
Manage online information, including maintenance of the FAQ section of website, as well as<br />
replying to questions about the program.<br />
Research and update information on the value and return on investment of <strong>Quality</strong> <strong>Assurance</strong> to<br />
business and organizational success in general, and in the tourism sector specifically.<br />
Promote the <strong>Quality</strong> <strong>Assurance</strong> Program to Saskatchewan’s tourism sector.<br />
Working with the Program Director of <strong>Quality</strong> <strong>Assurance</strong>, identify funding partners, initiate<br />
proposals and complete proposal and application processes for submission upon final approval of<br />
Program Director.<br />
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.<br />
The knowledge, skills, and abilities required are:<br />
Post-secondary education in tourism, business administration, or a related field, or a combination<br />
of education and experience is required.<br />
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in program management and delivery is required.<br />
Must have proven experience in developing and delivering effective presentations to both small<br />
and large groups.<br />
Knowledge of processes required to develop training programs is necessary.<br />
Demonstrated experience in management of projects of complex, multi-disciplinary scope with<br />
multiple stakeholders.<br />
Successful previous experience in change management processes is an asset.<br />
Previous experience working with suppliers (experience working with contractors to develop I/T<br />
based applications is an asset) is an asset.<br />
Experience in developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies is<br />
required.<br />
Demonstrated strong organizational, planning, and time management skills, and the ability to<br />
multi-task and prioritize while working within a team environment is necessary.<br />
Must be able to work independently.<br />
Demonstrated ability in use of current computer applications (including Word, PowerPoint, and<br />
Excel).<br />
Previous experience working in a Content Management System is an asset.<br />
Must have excellent interpersonal skills, including strong leadership, team skills, and cultural<br />
sensitivities.<br />
Must be customer-service focused.<br />
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.<br />
Must be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and enthusiasm.<br />
An ability to take creative approach to challenges is required.<br />
Strong critical and analytical thinking skills are an asset.
Knowledge of Saskatchewan’s tourism sector is an asset.<br />
Valid driver’s license is required, and the flexibility to travel extensively.<br />
