Process company Visas and checking and processing of expense claims. Process vendor payments in a timely manner and monitor cash flow. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. The required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position are: Completion of Payroll Administration certificate program. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in payroll. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting position working with a combination of AR/AP/Payroll/General ledger/reporting. Certificate or diploma in accounting or business administration equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of employment/labour standards legislation/ the Income Tax Act as it pertains to payroll. Experience with accounting and payroll software required; experience with Great Plains Dynamics software is an asset. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) is required. Conscientious, with keen attention to detail to ensure accurate and timely payroll transactions, ability to read, understand and interpret legal terminology in collective agreement, benefit contracts and government regulations. Ability to work independently, without supervision, takes initiative in managing payroll procedures efficiently and effectively. Demonstrates approachability and effective communication verbally and written, building and maintaining positive working relationships at all levels within and outside the organization. Demonstrates a willingness to handle questions and inquiries promptly, objectively and factually and to help co-workers in need of assistance. Ability to listen and communicate verbally and in writing without judgement. Demonstrates flexibility to perform multiple tasks and consistently prioritize, organize and plan to meet absolute deadlines. Demonstrates ability to recognize problems quickly and apply sound solutions independently. Demonstrates discretion and sensitivity due to confidentiality of information, maintains professional demeanour when dealing with internal and external stakeholders. Research and implementation of employment/labour standards legislation. Research and implementation of policies under the Income Tax Act. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
