In addition to the RGB colour space, the self-contained RGBW 

LED-lighting system has an adjustable white light range 

of 2000 to 10000 Kelvin. 

Thanks to this system expansion, precise control of the 

Planck curve within the RGB colour triangle is possible. 

Light colour and light intensity can be controlled with various 

control elements such as remote control, PC or SmartPhone 

without additional software. Thus, for example, browser-based 

control using LAN / WLAN is possible. 

The usage of RGBW-LEDs offers the possibility of positively 

influencing human biorhythms by changing light colour and 

intensity, which can increase the feeling of well-being. The 

power of concentration and thus the performance capability 

are increased, making it possible to work more efficiently. 

In answer to questions asked by the South Westphalia 

Polytechnic, test persons confirmed the assumption that 

persons in a room with RGBW lighting do not feel as listless 

and tired as they would in a room with conventional lighting. 

This newly designed lighting technology offers a pleasant and 

natural light which is distributed evenly throughout the room. 

In addition, sufficient brightness is guaranteed without any 

glare. 

Thus this new development is not only ideally suited for 

decorative lighting with colour dynamics, but also for 

technical room lighting in the desired colour temperature 

range of 2000 to 10000 Kelvin.

Description of the 

functional principle 

By use of an interface, the user has the option of influencing the lighting with a PC in 

connection with WLAN or LAN or an additional system which is listed in the operating 

principle. Changes entered by the user are transmitted to the lights by the interface 

and the respective control device. 

In the case of a LAN or WLAN connection, data can be processed directly between 

the user interface and the control device. Thus, nothing more is required to send 

data to the interface than a browser-capable device. The respective power units are 

then used to transmit these data to the lights. The control unit processes the data 

received in this way together with the pre-programmed spectral programme sequence. 

The resulting RGBW values are then forwarded to the lights by the Master and Slave 

control units. Feedback about the light emitted by the lamps is given here, which is 

visually perceived by the user and determines his biorhythms. 

CIE standard colour chart

on the edge of the colour triangle, the 

progression of which contains the pure 

colours. 

The "Black-Body-Curve" presents the 

colours as the temperature of an ideal 

thermal radiator in Kelvin.

Operating options 

PC-RGBW control 

In the case of PC-RGBW control, the individual colours 

of the RGBW range are presented, the intensity of which 

can be seamlessly regulated using this mask. 

PC-Party control 

The PC-Party control controls colour change. 

A selection can be made here between two 

colour progressions. The speed and intensity 

of the progressions can be seamlessly adapted 

in this input mask. 

PC-Kelvin control 

In the case of PC-Kelvin control, a "Temperature bar" 

can be used to select colour temperatures from 2000 to 

10000 Kelvin and also to seamlessly change the intensity. 

PC-CIE control 

The PC-CIE control can be used to select a colour 

in the colour triangle and to seamlessly change its 

intensity.

SmartPhone operating options 

The depicted control system presents the complete user 

interface for SmartPhones. This is condensed as much 

as possible and kept as comfortable as necessary.

The RGBW control device serves to provide individual or pre-programmed colour and brightness control of LED modules. 

Various control protocols can be used for control. These protocols are subdivided in a DMX signal (Address 001 - 512), Dali-Bus 

(Address 600 and higher) and the control using 4 active 1-10V signals (Address 700). The voltage of the 1-10V inputs must be 

supplied to the device (active). The control options are based on the respective protocol control. 

The RGBW control can be used to control RGBW LED products with joint cathodes. 


The protocol for the control of the RGBW master control system must be provided at the job site!
