Consultative Committee<br />
The <strong><strong>WA</strong>GRA</strong> Consultative Committee provides industry<br />
input on issues important to the conduct and<br />
promotion of greyhound racing in Western Australia.<br />
As at 31 July <strong>2009</strong> the Consultative Committee<br />
comprised:<br />

member Dr Peter Thomas, and RW<strong>WA</strong> Chief Steward<br />
<strong>Greyhounds</strong> Mr Carlos Martins attended meetings<br />
when invited to offer advice in their specialist areas.<br />
RW<strong>WA</strong> representation was also invited.<br />
The forum continues to provide Consultative Committee<br />
members with an opportunity to express points<br />
of view on a range of industry-related matters to<br />
<strong><strong>WA</strong>GRA</strong> Management and offi cials. Many topics<br />
were forwarded for discussion at the RW<strong>WA</strong> Greyhound<br />
Racing Consultative Group.<br />

Representation<br />
It is a requirement of the RW<strong>WA</strong> Act 2003 for the<br />
eligible greyhound racing bodies to nominate a member<br />
and an alternative member of the RW<strong>WA</strong> Board<br />
of Directors, and a member of the RW<strong>WA</strong> Selection<br />
Panel, for a term not exceeding three years.<br />
The eligible greyhound racing bodies, <strong><strong>WA</strong>GRA</strong>, Avon<br />
Valley Greyhound Racing Association (AVGRA) and<br />
<strong>WA</strong>GBOTA, provided joint nominations.<br />
RW<strong>WA</strong> members Mr Geoffrey Martin (Board Member),<br />
Mr Lindsay Archer (Alternative Member) and<br />
Mr Ted Karasek (Selection Panel) three year terms<br />
are due to expire 31 July <strong>2009</strong> and the nomination<br />
process is already underway.<br />
