Welcome to Prescott and the 1 st Bredon & Prescott Vintage and Classic
Prescott Hill Climb is home to one of the world’s most prestigious motor racing
hill climbs. Set in 60 acres of glorious Cotswold countryside, the estate not only
provides a beautiful setting for a range of vintage, classic car and bike weekends,
but also hosts major motor racing championships.

Please mark the box on the attached sheet to indicate the number
of the car you would wish to take home – 2007 Enthusiasts Cup
and place your vote in box in the marquee by 3.30pm.
The Course The 1127 yard course
rises over 200 feet via short
straights, fast and slow corners and
a treacherous a hairpin, with the
fastest modern racing cars
completing the course in just over
an exciting 36 seconds.
Prescott is run by The Bugatti
Owners Club who purchased the
estate in 1937 and commenced
converting the muddy, rutted drive
into a speed hill climb ready for the
Opening Rally in April 1938, when
the then Club President, Earl Howe,
opened proceedings by driving his
type 57 Bugatti up the Hill. For

Programme For Today
This is the 10 th year of the Bredon
Vintage and Classic Car Rally and
the first time that it has been held at
Prescott. PLEASE bear with us,
since planning to hold the event
here we have been badly affected by
the recent floods with some
significant damage to the estate and
the track. and have only just
managed to reopen the estate . Thus
we are not as well organised as we
would like to be for what is our first
vintage and classic rally.
TAKE CARE -Please park and
manoeuvre your car carefully, we
have a lot of young families present
today. We have allocated space for
pre-war and post-cars in the
paddock. Judging will take place
during the afternoon and results will
be announced at approximately
4pm.
Access & Facilities:
Please do enjoy the estate. Most of
the course and surrounding estate is
wheelchair accessible. The estate is
ideal for informal picnicking, with
many excellent walks available
across the estate and into the
surrounding countryside. There is
also a children’s play area available.
Do take time to walk up the hill and
enjoy the wonderful views across
the Severn valley and Cotswolds
ridge.

The Bugatti Trust
If you can spare the time it is well worth paying a visit to Bugatti Trust Study
Centre at Prescott to appreciate the brilliance of Ettore and his son Jean and to
view the display. Entrance is free of charge and whilst it is not a museum in the
strict definition of the term it has numerous interesting artefacts and several cars
on display. It also has huge archive of photographs and documents. Its charitable
objects include the advancement of education for the benefit of the community
devoted to the history and technical importance of the work of Ettore Bugatti and
has for several years provided prizes to engineering design students whose work
in its opinion most closely epitomises the philosophy represented by his
achievements.
His tool was the pencil, of course. Bugatti Trust has many of his sketches, and he
was quoted as saying, "A technician who cannot put down his ideas on paper is at
a great disadvantage. Powers of observation and a great facility with the pencil
are two attributes which matter the most". We can see today the benefits of
computer power but must not forget it is a tool to which has to be injected
imagination and flair, something that he had in abundance.
