a) EXHIBITS MUST BE THE WORK OF THE EXHIBITOR<br />

b) INFORMATION<br />

Floral Art Classes will be judged according to the standards of the Horticultural <strong>Society</strong> of Canberra Inc.,<br />

as included in the <strong>Society</strong>’s Exhibitors and Judge’s Manual. If in doubt about any part of this schedule, it<br />

is strongly recommended that exhibitors phone Marie Lenon - Ph: 6282 1755.<br />

c) DEFINITIONS<br />

ACCESSORIES: Anything added to an arrangement to assist in the design<br />

DESIGN: The planned order of the elements, according to the principles of design. A design may include<br />

one container or more, and may include background or base.<br />

DESIGN ELEMENTS: Space, line form, pattern, texture, colour.<br />

DESIGN PRINCIPLES: Balance, dominance, contrast, rhythm, proportion, scale.<br />

PLANT MATERIAL: Any part of cultivated, uncultivated and marine plants, fresh or dried.<br />

d) UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED<br />

1. Plant material need not have been grown <strong>by</strong> the exhibitor.<br />

2. Any plant material may be used.<br />

3. Fresh plant material must be included in all exhibits unless otherwise stated.<br />

4. No artificial plant material.<br />

5. In modern design treated material may be used, with discretion.<br />

6. Exhibits will be judged from the front.<br />

7. Drapes are permitted.<br />

8. Accessories may be used in all classes.<br />

9. Space allocation is as per class with height unrestricted<br />

10. Exhibits in class 208 to be point judged and points displayed with each unit according to H.S. of<br />

C. Inc. judging manual.<br />

11 Each miniature NOT to exceed 10cm in any direction.<br />
