Singleton shopfront keeps door open to the community
Coal & Allied’s Singleton
shopfront will continue
to hold displays during
November and December
after hosting a series of
community information
sessions about its mining
activities in the Hunter.
The sessions, which
began in August, are
also taking place at the
Muswellbrook shopfront on
a range of topics requested
by the local community.

“People are showing
a real interest in Coal &
Allied’s operations, and
the wider contribution we
make to the Hunter Valley
community,” Jennifer said.
“People are telling us they
want to know more about
issues such as employment,
community investment,
environmental management,
and cultural heritage.
“Our doors are
always open and we are
encouraging people to
drop in, take a look at the
displays, talk to our staff and
pick up some information to
take away with them.
“In addition to our
regular ongoing displays,
twice a month we will be
bringing in some of our
Coal & Allied experts in
these specific areas for
members of the community
to speak to in dedicated
information sessions.
“The Singleton shopfront
held two employment
and training sessions in
August and October, two
community investment
sessions in September and
two noise management
sessions in November with
all topics well received.
“We look forward to
continuing these sessions
to increase awareness about
our activities and educate
our communities about
what we do and the way we
work in the Hunter Valley.”

The Singleton shopfront
will host another community
information session in
December on employment
opportunities with Coal &
Allied from 9am to midday
on 7 December and midday
to 3pm on 16 December.
